Traits
Keen Tracker. The hound has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) and Wisdom (Survival) checks that rely on smell.
Relentless Pursuit. While the hound is pursuing a creature it can smell, it ignores difficult terrain.
Sturdy Frame. The hound has advantage on saving throws against being knocked prone and against effects that would move it against its will.
Bone Chill (Recharge after a Short or Long Rest). When the hound hits with its Bite, it can cause a chill that saps momentum; the target’s speed is reduced by 10 feet until the end of its next turn.
Pounce. If the hound moves at least 20 feet straight toward a creature and then hits it with a Bite attack on the same turn, that target must succeed on a DC 12 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. If the target is knocked prone, the hound can make one bite attack against it as a bonus action.
Actions
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 4) piercing damage plus 2 (1d4) necrotic damage.
Description
This Bone Hound is built to be a fast, durable scout and flank-holder for low‑level play. Its higher HP, sturdy frame, and resistances let it soak hits that would otherwise threaten fragile allies, while Pounce and Bone Chill let it disrupt and slow priority targets. Use it to chase down fleeing enemies, hold a flank, or pin a caster long enough for allies to close.
