Duergar Resistance. Bolbec has advantage on saving throws against poison, spells, and illusions, as well as to resist being charmed or paralyzed.
Sunlight Sensitivity. While in sunlight, Bolbec has disadvantage on attack rolls, as well as on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.
Battle Ready. Bolbec adds his Intelligence modifier to his initiative rolls.
Psionic Aura. When Bolbec suffers more than 14 points of damage from a single attack, psychic energy erupts from him to deal 14 (4d6) psychic damage to each creature within 5 feet of him.
Spellcasting. Bolbec is an 8th-level spellcaster. His spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 17, +9 to hit with spell attacks). Bolbec has the following wizard spells prepared:
Cantrips (at will): chill touch, light, mage hand, mind sliver, shocking grasp
1st level (4 slots): chromatic orb, false life, mage armor, shield
2nd level (3 slots): mirror image, Tasha's mind whip, misty step
3rd level (3 slots): counterspell, lightning bolt, slow
4th level (2 slots): black tentacles, fire shield, resilient sphere
*Bolbec casts mirror image, fire shield, and mage armor on himself before combat.
Multiattack. Bolbec makes one Iron Fist attack and one Steel Palm attack.
Iron Fist. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) bludgeoning damage, plus 9 (2d8) force damage. If the target is a Large or smaller creature, it must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Steel Palm. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 3) slashing damage, plus an additional 13 (3d8) psychic damage to a prone target.
Mind Mastery (Recharge 4–6). Bolbec targets one creature he can see within 60 feet. The target must succeed on a DC 17 Intelligence saving throw, or Bolbec causes it to use its reaction either to make one weapon attack against another creature Bolbec can see or to move up to 10 feet in a direction of the Bolbec's choice. Creatures that can’t be charmed are immune to this effect.
Telekinetic Meat Shield. When an attack roll hits against Bolbec, he can use his reaction to telekinetically pull an enthralled creature in front of him if they are within 30 feet of him. The enthralled creature is then subjected to the triggering attack instead.
Bolbec can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. He can take only one legendary action at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn. Bolbec regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.
Warp Step. Bolbec teleports, along with any equipment he is wearing or carrying, up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space he can see.
Regain Reaction. Bolbec spends one legendary action to regain his expended reaction.
Cast Spell (Costs 1–3 Actions). Bolbec uses a spell slot to cast a 1st-, 2nd-, or 3rd-level spell that he has prepared. Doing so costs 1 legendary action per level of the spell.
Lair and Lair Actions
Enthrall. On initiative count 20, losing ties, Bolbec's psionic aura pulses with enthralling power. One creature that Bolbec can see must make a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw or be enthralled by Bolbec. Creatures that are actively hostile against Bolbec have advantage on this saving throw. Enthralled creatures can repeat the saving throw at the end of their turn. Any creature that is already enthralled by Bolbec when he uses this features suffers a -2 penalty to their saving throw.
Enthroned. Provided he can see it, Bolbec can choose to use his Enthrall feature on the range-extending arcano-crystal in his throne. Doing so extends the range of his Enthrall ability to all creatures within 120 feet of the throne.
Annihilated. When Bolbec is reduced to half hit-points or no creatures are Enthralled, whichever is first, Bolbec will ignore initiative order, interrupt the current turn, and immediately cast resilient sphere on himself. He then releases Bolbec's Annihilation v.115. BA115 acts immediately and assumes the initiative count of whenever it is first activated. Bolbec will refuse to engage until either BA115 or his attackers have been defeated.
