Description
Utahraptors are among the largest of all raptor species, covered in feathers and able to leap extraordinary distances to attack prey they are some of the most feared of all dinosaur hunters. Utahraptors rarely hunt in packs, preferring to stalk prey on their own from a distance before leaping to strike with devastating effect. However, prey large enough in size or numbers will bring individuals together to ensure a successful hunt for all involved.
A utahraptor will usually ambush its prey with a powerful leap, landing on it with its massive claws and tearing at vital organs after knocking its prey to the ground. Utahraptors possess an immense primary claw on each foot, a 15-inch long curved weapon designed for puncturing flesh and ripping out organs. These claws are often sought by explorers for use as wicked daggers, and by tribal leaders for their use in medicines and religious ceremonies. Lizardfolk and other races found in the wilds are known for fashioning jewelry from the claws of utahraptors, which they believe instill them with the spirit of a hunter.
