Traits

Amphibious.

The Deepreaver can breathe both air and water.

Void Commander.

All Voidbound allies within 30 ft. gain a +1 bonus to attack rolls while the Deepreaver is conscious.

Abyssal Grace.

The Deepreaver has advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made underwater and doesn’t provoke opportunity attacks while swimming.

Fractured Mind.

The Deepreaver has advantage on saving throws against psychic damage and against being charmed or frightened.

Dimensional Drift.

At the start of each of its turns, the Deepreaver can become partially phased until the start of its next turn, giving ranged attacks against it disadvantage unless the attacker is within 10 feet.

Actions

Voidblade Slash. Melee Weapon Attack:

+4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target.
Hit: 7 (1d8 + 3) psychic damage plus 1d6 force damage (Void Rend).

Psionic Lash. Melee Weapon Attack:

+4 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target.
Hit: 8 (1d10 + 3) psychic damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 14 Wisdom save or have disadvantage on its next attack roll.

Laser Crossbow. Ranged Weapon Attack:

+4 to hit, range 80/320 ft., one target.
Hit: 7 (1d8 + 3) radiant damage, ignoring half and three-quarters cover.

Bonus Actions

Void Recall.

The Deepreaver teleports its voidblade or psionic lash into its hand.

Voidmark Pulse (Recharge 5–6).

The Deepreaver emits a low psychic hum. One creature within 30 ft. must make a DC 14 Wisdom save. On a failure, it becomes Void-Marked for 1 minute:

  • Voidbound allies have advantage on their first attack each round against the target.

  • The target emits faint violet light underwater.

The target can repeat the save at the end of each of its turns.

Reactions

Phase Slip.

When hit by an attack, the Deepreaver imposes disadvantage on the attack roll by flickering into the void.

Void Echo Counter.

When a melee attack hits the Deepreaver, the attacker takes 1d8 psychic damage.

Description

The Voidbound Deepreaver is an imposing figure among its kind—taller, sharper, and more heavily scarred by the crushing pressures of the deep void trenches. Its skin shimmers with shifting patterns of bioluminescent runes, each one a mark of rituals performed beneath alien currents far below mortal reach. Jagged fins and tendrils trail from its body like tattered banners, drifting in the water even when it is completely still.

Unlike lesser Voidbound, the Deepreaver carries itself with deliberate precision, every movement silent and predatory. Its eyes burn with twin pinpricks of violet light, a sign of its stronger connection to the extradimensional oceans that overlap reality. It commands its bandits through psychic pulses, sonar clicks, and cold, calm authority—never raising its voice, never showing fear.

NPCs describe a Deepreaver as a presence rather than a creature: an unsettling distortion in the water, a flicker of void energy seen in the corner of the eye, or a sudden hush before an ambush. To its followers, the Deepreaver is a navigator of hidden currents—both physical and cosmic—leading them to sunken treasures, ancient ruins, and the remains of civilizations swallowed by the sea.

Its ambitions reach beyond simple thievery. It seeks relics, energies, and secrets that resonate with the void—pieces of alien truth it believes will one day allow its people to reshape the oceans themselves.
