Traits

Echo Location. When the Batrine is sneak attacked no advantage is provided to the attacker due to it's enhanced senses.

Rough Hide. If the Batrine is attacked from the 5 ft. in front of it or diagonally in front of it the attacker takes 1 bludgeoning damage.

On The Hunt. While it is another creatures turn if they miss and are inside the Batrine's Territory they immediately take 1d4 psychic damage from the Batrine's intimidating glare.

Batrine's Territory. The Batrine has a 15 ft. radius around it where its senses are hyper aware.

Actions

Summon Swarm. Once per battle the Batrine can summon (1d4 +2) bats to aid it if it is in a dark place. Creatures can attempt to halt the gathering with a DC = 16 nature (WIS) check to try and use prior knowledge and skills to distract, damage, or stop its calling.

Bite. Melee Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 17 (5d6 + 2) Piercing damage.

Gust. Ranged Attack: +5 to hit, reach 15 ft. cone, any number of targets. Hit: 13 (2d10 + 3) force damage.

Talon. Melee Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft. cone, 1 target. Hit: 5 (2d4 + 1) Piercing  damage. If the target of this attack does not move more that 10 ft. away on its turn then the talons stay imbedded in the creature and deal an extra 1d4 piercing damage.

Bonus Actions

Shadow Dweller. The Batrine can add 15 ft. to any one type of its movement speed until the start of its next turn if there are no creatures within 5 ft. in any direction.

Fury. The Batrine up to 3 times per battle can enter a fury for 2 rounds of initiative from its turn. It switches its brain off and lets anger control its now spazzy movements creating an unpredictable pattern of attacks. While in a fury the Batrine's damage will have 1d6 additional force damage. Attacks targeted at the Batrine while in a fury will result in 1 extra bat being summoned and 1d4 less damage to the Batrine.

Reactions

Predatory Insight. When a creature in the Batrine's territory exits it, the Batrine can immediately enter into a fury without consuming one of the 3 uses permitted per battle.

Description

A monstrous bat with 6 eyes, large talons, hands with large claws on the ends of its wings, and a wingspan of over 10 ft. It leads Giant Bats  and giant bats lead bats, which creates a hierarchy system of sorts with the Batrine at the top. A Batrine is a morphed and almost deformed bat to be more like an eagle and/or lion than a bat with many traits from other species of animals found in its body. Batrines almost always have a bloodthirsty appetite and hunt for sport and attention when there are other bats watching.
