Traits

Dark One’s Own Luck (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). When Vale makes an ability check or saving throw, he can add a d10 to the roll. He can do this after the roll is made but before any of the roll’s effects occur.

Telepathic Bond. Vale ignores the range restriction on its telepathy when communicating with a creature it has charmed. The two don't even need to be on the same plane of existence.

Innate Spellcasting. The warlock’s innate spellcasting ability is Charisma. It can innately cast the following spells (spell save DC 15), requiring no material components:

  • At will: alter self, false life, levitate (self only), mage armor (self only), silent image

  • 1/day each: feeblemind, plane shift

Spellcasting. Vale is a 5th-level spellcaster. His spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 15, +8 to hit with spell attacks). He regains his expended spell slots when he finishes a short or long rest. He knows the following warlock spells:

  • Cantrips (at will): light, minor illusion, prestigitation, thaumaturgy

  • 1st level (4 slots): bane, burning hands (Yarting of Flaming Shred), suggestion, faerie fire, healing word, silent image

  • 2nd level (3 slots): darkness, heat metal, mirror image, pyrotechnics

  • 3rd level (3 slots): dispel magic, scorching ray

  • 4th level (2 slots): wall of fire, banishment

  • 5th level (1 slot): flame strike

Actions

Multiattack. Vale makes three Yarting of Flaming Shred attacks, melee or ranged spell attacks.

Yarting of Flaming Shred (Melee). Melee Weapon Attack: +2 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 3 (1d4-1) bludgeoning damage. Roll a d20, on a 1, the Yarting Breaks and erupts into a Fireball. All nearby creatures within a 20ft radius of the Yarting must succeed a Dexterity Saving Throw. Targets take 8d6 fire damage on a failed save or half as much damage on a successful one. Flammable objects that are not worn or carried within the 20ft are ignited.

Yarting of Flaming Shred (Ranged). Ranged Spell Attack: +8 to hit, range 10/120 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d10) fire damage. A flammable object hit by this spell ignites if it isn't being worn or carried.

Charm. One humanoid Vale can see within 30 feet of it must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or be magically charmed for 1 day. The charmed target obeys Vale's verbal or telepathic commands. If the target suffers any harm or receives a suicidal command, it can repeat the saving throw, ending the effect on a success. If the target successfully saves against the effect, or if the effect on it ends, the target is immune to Vale's Charm for the next 24 hours.

Draining Kiss. Vale kisses a creature charmed by it or a willing creature. The target must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw against this magic, taking 32 (5d10 + 5) psychic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The target's hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the damage taken. This reduction lasts until the target finishes a long rest. The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0.

Etherealness. Vale magically enters the Ethereal Plane from the Material Plane, or vice versa.

Reactions

Fiendish Rebuke (3/day). In response to being damaged by a visible creature within 60 ft. of it, Vale forces that creature to make a DC 15 Dexterity Saving Throw, taking 22 (4d10) fire damage on a failed save or half as much on a successful one.
