Crown of Power. Ariakas has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects. In addition, creatures have disadvantage on saving throws against Ariakas’s enchantment spells and effects.
Tyrant’s Aura. Any enemy that starts its turn within 30 feet of Ariakas must succeed on a DC 21 Wisdom saving throw or have its speed halved until the start of its next turn. If the save fails by 5 or more, the creature is also unable to take reactions for that duration.
Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If Ariakas fails a saving throw, he can choose to succeed instead.
Spellcasting. Ariakas casts spells using Charisma (spell save DC 21, +13 to hit with spell attacks). He requires no material components.
-
At will: command, eldritch blast, shield
-
3/day each: blight, dominate person, fireball, counterspell, banishment
-
1/day each: power word stun, circle of death
Multiattack. Ariakas makes three attacks with Drakmattha, or two Drakmattha attacks and casts eldritch blast.
Drakmattha, Great Sword of the Dark Queen. Melee Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 6) slashing plus 18 (4d8) necrotic damage.
If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 21 Wisdom saving throw or be cursed until the end of its next turn. While cursed this way, the creature can’t regain hit points and has disadvantage on its next saving throw.
Edict of Submission (Recharge 5–6). Ariakas targets up to 3 creatures he can see within 60 feet. Each target must make a DC 21 Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, a target is charmed by Ariakas for 1 minute. While charmed, it is also incapacitated and its speed becomes 0 as it kneels or freezes in terrified obedience.
A charmed target can repeat the save at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a target succeeds on the save, it is immune to this Edict for 24 hours.
Hell-command. Ariakas chooses one enemy he can see within 60 feet. Until the start of Ariakas’s next turn, the first time that enemy hits a creature other than Ariakas with an attack, Ariakas can force it to reroll the attack roll and use the lower roll (no action required).
Imperial Rebuke. When a creature Ariakas can see within 60 feet succeeds on a saving throw against one of Ariakas’s effects, Ariakas can deal 14 (4d6) psychic damage to that creature and push it up to 10 feet directly away from him.
Ariakas can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn. Ariakas regains spent legendary actions at the start of his turn.
Drakmattha Strike. Ariakas makes one Drakmattha attack.
Cast a Spell (Costs 2 Actions). Ariakas casts an at-will spell or a 3/day spell.
Break Their Will (Costs 2 Actions). One creature Ariakas can see within 30 feet must succeed on a DC 21 Wisdom saving throw or be stunned until the end of its next turn.
Lair and Lair Actions
Lair Actions (Temple of Darkness / Neraka)
If fought in his seat of power, on initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), Ariakas can take one lair action:
-
Black Banner Surge. Up to three allies of Ariakas (or three hostile creatures, if you want the temple itself to punish intruders) gain 20 temporary hit points and can immediately move up to half their speed without provoking opportunity attacks.
-
Mouth of the Abyss. A 20-foot-radius area within 120 feet becomes shadow-choked until next round. Enemies that enter or start their turn there take 10 (3d6) necrotic damage and must succeed on a DC 21 Wisdom save or be frightened until the end of their next turn (immune for 24 hours on success).
-
Chains of Obedience. One creature Ariakas can see within 60 feet must succeed on a DC 21 Strength save or be restrained until the end of its next turn.
