Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If Xareth fails a saving throw, he can choose to succeed instead.
Storm of Inevitability. When Xareth deals lightning damage to a creature, that creature cannot take reactions until the end of its next turn.
Architect of Collapse. At the start of combat, Xareth chooses one enemy creature he can see. That creature has disadvantage on its first saving throw during the encounter.
Ashen Authority. Allied Ashen Court creatures within 30 feet of Xareth gain advantage on saving throws.
Multiattack. Xareth makes two Voidblade attacks or one Voidblade attack and uses Chain Ruin.
Red Voidblade. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (2d8 + 3) radiant damage plus 18 (4d8) necrotic damage.
Chain Ruin. Ranged Spell Attack: +11 to hit, range 120 ft., one target. Hit: 36 (8d8) lightning damage, and lightning arcs to up to two additional creatures of Xareth’s choice within 20 feet of the target, dealing 18 (4d8) lightning damage to each.
Cataclysmic Surge (Recharge 5–6). Xareth releases a controlled storm of entropic lightning in a 60-foot line that is 10 feet wide. Each creature in the line must make a DC 19 Dexterity saving throw, taking 72 (16d8) lightning damage plus 18 (4d8) necrotic damage on a failure, or half as much on a success. Creatures that fail are restrained by crackling entropic energy until the end of their next turn.
Calculated Relocation. Xareth teleports up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space he can see, leaving behind a crack of thunder. Each creature within 5 feet of his original space takes 9 (2d8) lightning damage.
Stormward Rebuttal. When Xareth is hit by a ranged attack, he gains resistance to that attack’s damage, and the attacker takes 14 (4d6) lightning damage.
Xareth Mal’korr can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn.
Voidstep. Xareth moves up to half his speed without provoking opportunity attacks.
Lightning Lance. Xareth makes one Chain Ruin attack against a different target.
Designated Collapse (Costs 2 Actions). Xareth marks one creature he can see. Until the end of that creature’s next turn, the first time it takes damage, it takes an additional 14 (4d6) lightning damage.
Description
Xareth Mal’korr, Storm-Architect of Ruin
Ashen Court Magister, Kidnapper of the Ashbound
Xareth Mal’korr wears layered void-black robes threaded with crimson crystal veins that pulse like distant storms. His eyes glow with restrained lightning, and arcs of power crawl along his fingers even at rest. His presence is not loud—it is oppressive, like thunder waiting to strike.
Where he walks, plans unravel.
Where he teaches, souls break cleanly.
He does not destroy out of anger.
He destroys because the equation says it is time.
Lore
Xareth Mal’korr believes destruction is not an act of violence, but of design.
Where other Ashen Court members act as executioners, Xareth is a planner of collapses, an architect who studies civilizations the way others study fortresses—searching for the precise pressure point where everything will fall apart at once.
It was Xareth who identified Savar.
Through forbidden scrying rites and entropic auguries, Xareth foresaw a fracture point within the Radiant Order: a child whose removal would echo for decades. He orchestrated the kidnapping personally—not out of impulse, but to prove a thesis to the Ashen Court:
“Hope is strongest where it believes itself safest.”
Savar’s training was not merely brutal—it was methodical. Xareth broke him slowly, isolating him, rewarding obedience, punishing doubt, reshaping the boy’s understanding of strength until mercy felt like failure. He taught Savar that lightning is the purest expression of Seron’s will: sudden, overwhelming, undeniable.
Though not the leader of the Ashen Court, Xareth commands fear and respect. He is entrusted with indoctrination, conquest planning, and the grooming of future Ashen Sovereigns.
To the Court, he is indispensable.
To Savar, he is the only constant left.
