Traits

Legendary Resistance (4/Day, or 5/Day in Lair). If Valtheris fails a saving throw, He can choose to succeed instead.

Doctrine of Undying Will. The first time Valtheris would be reduced to 0 hit points, he instead drops to 1 hit point and emits a necrotic pulse. Each enemy within 20 feet takes 36 (8d8) necrotic damage. This trait recharges after a long rest.

Rewrite Mortality. Enemy creatures within 30 feet of Valtheris have disadvantage on death saving throws, and resurrection magic used within this area requires a successful DC 22 ability check.

Second Regent’s Authority. Allied Ashen Court creatures within 60 feet gain advantage on saving throws and cannot be reduced below 1 hit point while Valtheris is conscious (once per creature per encounter).

Life Is a Resource. Whenever a creature within 60 feet dies, Valtheris regains 25 hit points.

Actions

Multiattack. Valtheris makes four Red Lightblade Trident attacks.

Red Lightblade Trident. Melee Weapon Attack: +16 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 28 (3d12 + 7) radiant damage plus 36 (8d8) necrotic damage.

Triune Annihilation (Recharge 5–6). Valtheris drives the trident into the ground, releasing three converging waves of destruction. Each enemy within 30 feet must make a DC 24 Constitution saving throw, taking 108 (24d8) necrotic damage on a failure, or half as much on a success. Creatures that fail are also restrained until the end of their next turn as their vitality collapses inward.

Designated Survival. Valtheris chooses one allied creature within 30 feet. Until the end of Valtheris’s next turn, that creature cannot be reduced below 1 hit point and gains resistance to all damage.

Bonus Actions

Calculated Persistence. Valtheris regains 20 hit points and ends one condition affecting him.

Reactions

Denial of Death. When a creature within 60 feet would drop to 0 hit points, Valtheris can choose to either:

  • Instantly kill it (no saves), or

  • Stabilize it and dominate it until the end of its next turn (as dominate monster, no concentration)

Legendary Actions

Valtheris Plagor can take 3 (or 4 in Lair) legendary actions, choosing from the options below.

Trident Thrust. Valtheris makes one Red Lightblade Trident attack.

Surgical Unmaking. One creature Valtheris can see within 30 feet takes 22 (4d10) necrotic damage.

Rewrite Outcome (Costs 2 Actions). Valtheris forces one creature he can see to reroll a saving throw or attack roll and take the lower result.

Description

Valtheris Plagor, the Undying Doctrine

Ashen Court High Councilor, Second Regent of Ruin

Lore

Where Morveth Nihyrr ends wars and Saelith Vornyx commands faith, Valtheris Plagor decides who is allowed to die at all.

Valtheris is the Second Regent of the Ashen Court, answering only to the Emperor himself. He is the architect of the Court’s most forbidden doctrine: that destruction is not merely an ending—but a tool to rewrite existence.

Inspired by Seron’s deepest truths, Valtheris believes death is a lever, not a law. By mastering annihilation at its most precise level, one can decide what is erased, what is preserved, and what is remade in the aftermath.

He oversees:

  • Resurrection-forged abominations

  • Controlled extinction rituals

  • The selective unmaking of souls

  • The weaponization of undeath and delayed oblivion

Many believe Valtheris no longer experiences time as mortals do. He has died—and refused to remain so. His continued existence is not defiance of Seron, but proof of mastery over the god’s domain.

Among the Council:

  • Kharvok guards

  • Morveth conquers

  • Saelith converts

But Valtheris decides what survives the end.

Even other councilors speak to him carefully.

Because Valtheris does not threaten the future—
he rewrites it.

Appearance

Valtheris wears the exact silhouette of your reference image:

  • Long black hooded robes draped over articulated dark armor

  • Layered plates protecting chest, arms, and legs

  • Mechanical and arcane elements integrated seamlessly into the armor

  • A silhouette that feels clinical, predatory, and immortal

His face is partially obscured—what little is visible appears elongated, pallid, and subtly inhuman, eyes glowing with cold crimson intellect.

In his grasp rests a Red Lightblade Trident:

  • Three crimson energy prongs

  • The central blade longer and more intense

  • The haft reinforced with arcane conduits and Ashen sigils

The weapon hums with restrained annihilation.
