Traits

True Pack Hunter

The Ravager gains the following benefits while at least one allied Ravager is within 10 feet of its target:

  • The Ravager has advantage on attack rolls
  • Its attacks deal +2 damage

This trait is the core of their threat. One Ravager is fair. Three become a problem.

Coordinated Rush

If another Ravager has already hit a creature since the end of this Ravager’s last turn, this Ravager can move up to 10 feet as part of its attack without provoking opportunity attacks.

Mount-Bred Physiology

A Medium or Small creature can ride the Ravager. While mounted:

  • The Ravager’s speed remains 50 ft.
  • The rider has advantage on Dexterity saving throws to avoid being knocked prone
Actions

Bite

Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target
Hit: 9 (1d10 + 3) piercing damage.

Raking Claws

Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target
Hit: 7 (1d8 + 3) slashing damage.

Savage Takedown

If the Ravager has advantage on the attack roll, the target must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Bonus Actions

Pack Reposition

If another Ravager is within 20 feet, the Ravager may Disengage or Dash as a bonus action.

Description

First Hunt Beast

Before the pact refined the Vyrathi into hunters with hands and memory, there were only teeth, muscle, and hunger. These beasts were not shaped to rule—only to kill efficiently and endure endlessly.

Lore

Proto-Vyrathi Ravagers are believed to predate the Age of Withering, or to have been recreated through failed pact rituals attempting to regress the bloodline into its most primal form.

Unlike modern Vyrathi, Ravagers:

  • Lack true language
  • Do not ritualize violence
  • Do not negotiate or hesitate

They hunt because they are meant to.

Some Vyrathi clans still breed or capture them as:

  • War mounts
  • Shock beasts
  • Living siege animals
  • Pack enforcers

Physical Description

  • Size: Large beast (mount-capable)
  • Stance: Quadrupedal, low-slung and muscular
  • Build: Massive shoulders, thick neck, powerful hind legs
  • Fur: Coarse, dark fur (obsidian, ash-gray, rust-red, or umber)
  • Face: Elongated Vyrathi skull, pronounced brow ridge, constant snarl
  • Eyes: Serpentine slit pupils glowing dull red or amber
  • Presence: Heavy breathing, low growls, pacing even when still
