Magic Resistance. The achaierai has Advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Multiattack. The achaierai makes two Claw attacks and one Bite attack. It can replace its Bite attack with a use of Cloud the Mind if available.
Claw. Melee Attack Roll: +5, reach 10 ft. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) Piercing damage.
Bite. Melee Attack Roll: +5, reach 10 ft. Hit: 17 (4d6 + 3) Slashing damage.
Cloud the Mind (Recharge 5-6). Wisdom Saving Throw: DC 11, each non-achaierai creature within 10 feet of the achaierai (creatures immune to the Charmed condition automatically succeed). First Failure: 7 (2d6) Psychic damage, and the target repeats the saving throw at the start of its next turn. Second Failure: The target rolls 1d8 to determine what it does, and rolls 1d8 at the start of each of its subsequent turns for 1 minute:
1–4. The target does nothing.
5–6. The target takes no action or Bonus Action and uses all its movement to move in a random direction.
7–8. The target makes a melee attack against a randomly determined creature within its reach or does nothing if it can’t make such an attack.
Success: Half damage only.
Crafty. The achaierai takes the Disengage action.
Description
Massive Fiendish birds that are found plentifully across Acheron, achaierai hide a sinister intellect under bestial forms and flightless wings. They adore torture and sport-hunting, and will gleefully play with their food before striking with bronze beak and shredding claw, prolonging the pain they deal to an excruciating degree.
