Dreamborne Flight.
The Adarnyx Dreamguide does not provoke opportunity attacks when it flies out of an enemy’s reach.
Hypnotic Aura.
Each non-hostile creature of the Adarnyx’s choice that starts its turn within 10 feet of it must succeed on a DC 12 Wisdom saving throw or have disadvantage on its next attack roll or ability check made before the end of its turn.
A creature that succeeds on the saving throw is immune to this effect for 24 hours.
This aura is non-magical but counts as a charm-like effect.
Dream Guide (1/Long Rest).
While bonded as a familiar, the Adarnyx can subtly guide dreams and intuition. Once per long rest, when its bonded creature finishes a long rest, the DM may provide a vague omen, warning, or symbolic dream relating to a future danger, disaster, or important choice.
This information is never precise and should be interpreted narratively.
Beak. Melee Attack Roll: +6, reach 5 ft. Hit: 1 Piercing damage.
Description
The Adarnyx Dreamguide is a legendary avian familiar said to descend from the sacred birds once bonded to the ancient Kalashtar people. Small in size yet breathtaking in presence, it bears a slender body adorned with long, flowing tail-feathers that trail behind it like ribbons of living light.
Its plumage constantly shifts in hue, iridescent blues bleed into golds, violets shimmer into emeralds all creating a hypnotic effect that seems to tug at the edge of waking thought. Those who gaze upon an Adarnyx for too long often report a sense of calm, suggestion, or déjà vu, as though their dreams are being gently guided rather than controlled.
Known in old stories as Dream Guides, Adarnyxes were believed to sense approaching calamity days or even weeks before it struck, subtly urging their bonded companions toward safer paths through visions, unease, or altered dreams.
To encounter one is rare. To bond with one is a mark of destiny.
