Aura of Resonance. Creatures of Arcanthyr’s choice within 60 feet gain advantage on Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma saving throws.

Harmonic Wings. Opportunity attacks against Arcanthyr are made with disadvantage. When he flies, musical energy flows from his wings; hostile creatures within 20 feet have disadvantage on concentration checks.

Living Song. Whenever Arcanthyr deals psychic or thunder damage, he may choose to either deal an additional 10 (3d6) psychic damage or grant one ally within 60 feet advantage on their next roll.

Legendary Resistance (4/Day). If Arcanthyr fails a saving throw, he can choose to succeed instead.

Unusual Nature. Arcanthyr doesn’t require food or drink.

Breath Weapons (Recharge 5–6)

🧠🎵 Breath of Emerald Chorus (Psychic — Special). Arcanthyr exhales a 120-foot cone of shimmering green psychic sound, filled with overlapping voices and harmonic resonance. DC 25 Intelligence save. Failure: 99 (18d10) psychic damage and stunned until the end of the creature’s next turn. Success: Half damage, not stunned. Creatures immune to charm instead have disadvantage on the next save they make.

🎼🌿 Breath of the Verdant Anthem (Supportive). Arcanthyr exhales a wave of radiant green musical energy in a 90-foot cone. Allies regain 70 (20d6) hit points. Allies end one charm, fear, or stun effect. Allies gain advantage on attack rolls and saving throws until the end of their next turn

Bonus Actions

  • Allies regain 15 HP at the start of their turns

  • Hostile creatures have disadvantage on saving throws

  • Arcanthyr’s breath weapons recharge immediately

  • He gains one additional legendary action per round

Description

Lore

Milil, the Lord of Song, rarely intervenes directly in the Material Plane. Creation, after all, is best expressed — not imposed.

When Milil encountered an ancient Emerald Greatwyrm whose mind perceived reality as rhythm and meaning, he found a kindred spirit. Rather than bless a mortal bard or saint, Milil did something unprecedented: he infused divine inspiration directly into a dragon’s soul.

Arcanthyr did not become a servant.
He became a living instrument of creation.

His emerald scales shimmer like polished jade beneath stage light, and when he flies, music flows from his wings — visible notes, glowing staff lines, and harmonic waves that bend the air itself. Where he sings, minds awaken, lies unravel, and despair breaks.

Appearance

  • Gargantuan Emerald Greatwyrm, sleek and refined

  • Scales glow deep emerald-green with subtle gold flecks

  • Eyes shine with intelligent teal light

  • Wings are classic emerald dragon wings in structure, but emit flowing visible music — glowing notes, chords, and harmonic ripples

  • When he moves, faint echoes trail behind him like a fading melody

    Narrative Role

    • Patron of legendary bards and artists

    • Guardian of lost songs, divine hymns, and creation myths

    • Enemy of silence magic, mind control, and creative suppression

    • Possible mythic ally who tests heroes through performance, not combat
