Fey Ancestry. The blinkhare has advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put it to sleep.
Light-Footed. The blinkhare leaves no tracks unless it chooses to.
Nip. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target.
Hit: 1 piercing damage.
Blink Hop. As a bonus action, the blinkhare magically teleports up to 10 feet to an unoccupied space it can see. This teleport does not provoke opportunity attacks. The blinkhare can use this trait at will, but only once per turn.
Skittish Survival. When a creature the blinkhare can see targets it with an attack, the blinkhare can use its reaction to move up to half its speed or use Blink Hop.
Description
Blinkhares resemble plump rabbits with unusually expressive eyes and impossibly soft fur. Their coats come in fey-touched colors—snow white, dappled brown, pastel gray, or faintly iridescent hues that shimmer in moonlight.
When they blink, their bodies dissolve into motes of light and flower petals, reappearing a short distance away with a soft pop. Their ears often lag a split second behind the rest of their body when they reappear.
They thump silently.
Lore
Blinkhares are native to the Feywild meadows and twilight hedgerows, where distance is more of a suggestion than a rule. Scholars believe blink dogs learned their teleportation magic by hunting blinkhares long ago—or perhaps the other way around.
Unlike blink dogs, blinkhares use their magic purely for escape, play, and mischief. They delight in appearing inside hats, backpacks, or right behind people who are trying very hard to be serious.
Fey courts often keep blinkhares as living wards against boredom.
