Sense Magic. The matriarch senses magic within 120 feet of it at will. This trait otherwise works like the detect magic spell but isn't itself magical.
Sunlight Sensitivity. While exposed to sunlight the matriarch’s AC drops to 18 and the multiattack is reduced by 1 attack.
Multiattack. The matriarch makes two claw attacks and one tentacle attack.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (2d8+ 7) slashing damage and 17 (2d8 + 7) necrotic damage.
Tentacles. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (2d8+7) bludgeoning damage. The matriarch regains half as many hit points. Creatures hit with a tentacle attack must succeed on a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw or be grappled, restrained and blinded. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effects on itself on a success. The matriarch cannot make a tentacle attack when a creature is in its tentacles' grasp.
Ovapositor: If the target creature is grappled in the matriarch's tentacles at the start of the matriarch's turn, the matriarch may use an action to make an ovapositor attack on that creature. The target grappled creature must succeed on DC 15 Constitution saving throw or be implanted by a Dark Seed. The seed will erupt into a Abyssal Skitterer in 1d10 days or when the afflicted creature dies. This effect may only be ended with a 1 hour medical operation with a successful DC 20 medicine check, and the afflicted creature taking 4 points of exhaustion. On a failed check the surgery may be attempted again after a long rest.
Ichor Spray: As a reaction, the matriarch can release a spray of ichor, covering all hostile creatures within a 15 ft radius. Affected creatures must succeed on a DC 18 dexterity saving throw or take 8 (2d6) poison damage and consider the matriarch an ally until the start of their next turn. No effect on a successful save.
