Traits

Shutdown. If targeted by dispel magic, the horror must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against the caster’s spell save DC or fall unconscious for 1 minute or until it takes any damage.

Unusual Nature. The Abisian Construct doesn’t require air, food, drink, or sleep.

Statuesque Stance. When the Abisian Construct is standing completely still, it can not be distinguished from the statues in its chamber.

Actions

Multiattack. The Abisian Construct makes one Cleave attack and two Rotating Blade attacks.

Cleave. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d8 + 2) piercing damage.

Rotating Blades Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d4 + 2) slashing damage.

Void Construct Interface. The Abisian Construct connects to a powered piece of machinery it can see within 5 feet of itself, and attunes to it instantly. If another creature is already attuned to the machine, that creature’s attunement to that machine ends when the Construct's attunement begins. The Abisian Construct can operate the machine even though it isn’t a spellcaster. The Construct can detach from the machine as a bonus action, which ends its attunement to the machine.

Pylon Movement. The Abisian Construct chooses a pedestal in its lair within 40 feet of it and moves incredibly quickly to that pedestal, matching the positions of nearby statues, and becoming completely still.

Description

Abisian constructs are formed under the power of the machine gods to protect their temples; those who disrupt, steal, or alter one of their temples in any way might unleash them from their never-ending slumber and draw the opposing foes into their chambers, where they can then battle them.

Abisian constructs measure about 12 feet in height and are humanoid in shape. They have strange triangular heads that are slightly folded and pointed downward. Their four armed forms hold a spear of transparent golden light, similar to how the sun used to shine. Seemingly connected to the spear is a core of energy pulses in their chests, like a small chest of energy wound up into a ball. Abisian Constructs also seem to use their core to fuse the floating pieces of their body together.

These creatures' lairs are giant halls of quartz and white stone, with their floors sheathed in a long red carpet. Every 20 feet is a pedestal with a statue that looks similar, if not identical to the Abisian construct.
