Reactions

Suspicious Ingredients. Whenever Aspicus takes damage, roll 1d4.

  1. Raisin Barrage: Player makes DC 12 DEX save, or speed becomes 0 until end of next turn.
  2. Marshmallow Adhesion: Target is grapple and must roll a DC 12 STR save to escape.

Description

Aspicus does not move unless it must.

It sits in its dish exactly as it has for decades: translucent, trembling slightly, its suspended fruit and vegetables and canned meat arranged with deliberate care. Light bends strangely through its body, casting reflections that feel older than the room itself.

Aspicus is patient.
Aspicus is traditional.
Aspicus has outlasted trends before.

It reacts poorly to:

  • being relocated

  • being questioned ("Is this safe to eat?")

  • being described as “retro"

When disturbed, Aspicus does not rage — it endures. It absorbs blows, engulfs obstacles, and responds with quiet, judgmental persistence. Pieces break away, wobble, and reform, as if nothing that happens now truly matters.

Aspicus does not pursue victory.
It waits for everyone else to tire.

It is most dangerous when:

  • someone tries to put it away

  • someone suggests it doesn’t belong

  • someone brings up “new ideas”

Aspicus does not believe it will be defeated.
It believes it will be remembered.
