Aetherwing Symbiote

Companion Bond

The Aetherwing bonds to a willing creature. While bonded, it occupies the same space as its host and cannot be targeted separately by attacks that target only one creature unless the attacker can specifically reach the Aetherwing.

The dragon is bound to its rider. The rider can use a bonus action on their turn to let the dragon take a full turn immediately after the rider. If the rider doesn’t command the dragon, it makes one attack against the nearest hostile creature it can see at the end of the rider’s turn. When the dragon uses a reaction, the rider must also use their reaction, except for opportunity attacks, which the dragon can make normally.

Living Wings

While bonded, the host gains a flying speed of 60 ft. and can hover.
If the host is wearing heavy armor, the flying speed is reduced to 30 ft.

Psychic Link

The Aetherwing maintains a constant telepathic link with its host.

• The host can communicate telepathically with the Aetherwing at any distance on the same plane.

• The host has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks while flying.

• Once per short rest, the host can gain advantage on one saving throw as the Aetherwing steadies their mind

Mindweave

The Aetherwing can innately manifest minor psionic effects.
Spellcasting Ability: Wisdom (save DC 12, +4 to hit with spell attacks)

At will:

• guidance (host only)

• message (telepathic only; no components)

3/short rest each:

• feather fall (host only)

• mind spike

1/Long rest each:

• detect thoughts 

Neural Prick 

Ranged Spell Attack:
+4 to hit, range 60 ft., one creature the host can see.
Hit:
(1d8+4) psychic damage. If the target is concentrating on a spell, it has disadvantage on the next Constitution saving throw it makes to maintain concentration before the end of its next turn.
