- Aura of Absolute Silence: The hound emits a magical bubble of vacuum in a 15-foot radius. Within this area, no sound can be created or heard. Casting a spell with a Verbal (V) component is impossible within this aura.
- Unnatural Stillness: While the hound remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from empty space. In the vibrant Feywild, this is noticed only as a "pocket of dead air" where light trails and wind choir sounds vanish.
- Tether Sense: The hound knows the direction and distance to Narthalon’s lamp as long as they are on the same plane.
Multiattack. The death dog makes two Bite attacks.
Void Bite. Melee Attack Roll: +5, reach 5 ft. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) Force damage.
The Warden's Tug (Recharge 5-6): The hound attempts to phase through a target's grip to grab a held object (like the lamp). The target must succeed on a DC 13 Strength Saving Throw or the object is pulled 10 feet toward the hound.
Description
This is a Medium sized 4 legged animal that loosely holds the same shape of what would be a hound. In truth this is a Silhouette of Nothing: The hound doesn't have fur or skin; it looks like a tear in the firmament of reality. When it moves, the deep violet sky and pink fractal clouds behind it don't just shift—they shatter and distort like a broken mirror. It is a living "glitch" in the Persistence of Vision. Surrounding these creatures is the suffocating smell of old parchment, wet ink, and burning paper, denoting their creator, the Archivist Malakor. There is an aura of the Void about them as anyone within 15 feet of the hounds is under the effect of silence as they were created to hunt magic users. When they move, they have an effect of grayscale streaks in their wake, momentarily draining the color and brightness from where their paws touch.
