Trampling Bulk. A creature that starts its turn within 5 feet of the apatosaurus and is prone takes 5 (1d10) bludgeoning damage from its massive shifting weight.
Stomp. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (2d10 + 5) bludgeoning damage.
Sweeping Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 5) bludgeoning damage. If the target is Large or smaller, it must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Description
Towering like a moving hill across the endless plains of the Beastlands, the apatosaurus is a living monument to abundance. Though gentle and slow to anger, its immense bulk and sweeping tail make it a dangerous obstacle to anything foolish enough to threaten it. Where herds of these colossal herbivores wander, the land is reshaped into broad paths and trampled clearings that soon burst back into lush regrowth.
Behavior & Ecology
Apatosaurus herds move slowly but relentlessly, consuming vast quantities of foliage. Smaller predators avoid healthy adults, instead targeting stragglers or juveniles. Despite their immense size, these sauropods are placid unless cornered—at which point their tails become devastating defensive weapons.
In the Beastlands, many celestials view them as sacred embodiments of endurance and patience.
