Traits

Unspeakable Horror. Any creature that begins it's turn within 5 ft. of and can see Archimedes must succeed a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or have the frightened condition.

Amorphous Mass. Archimedes can fit through a space as narrow as 1 inch without expending extra movement to do so. A creature making an unarmed strike attack against this creature must succeed a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw or have the grappled condition. A creature grappled by Archimedes will no longer have the grappled condition if they succeed on a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw (this is treated as an action). If after 2 turns a creature that is still grappled will become absorbed into Archimedes' body and gains full cover and the restrained condition. At the start of Archimedes' turn all restrained creatures within Archimedes body must succeed a DC 17 Dexterity saving throw, on a failed save the target creature becomes fully absorbed into Archimedes' body dying immediately, Archimedes then regains hit points equal to that creatures' max hit points, otherwise they take 1d20 acid damage and an additional 1d20 psychic damage.  If Archimedes losses 30+ hit points in a single turn while a creature is restrained inside its body they are no longer restrained and are pushed out of its body (however they are still grappled).

Buoyant. This creature sits on top of fluids, instead of sinking moving through it as if it were the ground.

Spider Climb. Archimedes can climb difficult surfaces, including along ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.

Actions

Assimilate. Archimedes can make an Acrobatics check targeting a creature within 5 ft. of it. The targeted creature must make an Acrobatics check, if it is lower than Archimedes' Dexterity check, the targeted creature becomes grappled

Devour. Melee Weapon Attack: +1 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1target. Hit: # (1d8 + 4) Bludgeoning damage. A creature hit by this attack must succeed a DC 15 Strength saving throw or have the grappled condition.

Description

Entry No.1 ~ Archimedes

This is the first entry I've made after entering this strange place and observing it's denizens. Roaming the area I awoke were these, amorphous masses of flesh, muscle and organs each more strange than the last. They were of varying sizes and shapes each with different organs littered across their body. Some eyes there, a nose there some even held faces of souls unfortunate enough to end up here, I wish not to share their fate. They seem to operate as stealth hunters using their transparent "tails" to act as bait mimicking creatures they've absorbed, from my observations they seem particularly fond of hanging from the walls and ceilings of this place, their body matching the same red, fleshy appearance of this realm. Then when an unfortunate creature passes beneath them, they fall and absorb them becoming a part of the mass.

Interestingly enough they seem to have limited intelligence moving in herds not out of mutual benefit but from a sheer inability to absorb each other. What surprised me the most was how physically weak it was despite it's large stature, as it was unable to break the bones of a dead creature of some kind (perhaps a mammal) with it's teeth instead choosing to absorb the bones instead. Just calling it mass of flesh wouldn't capture it's eccentricities so instead basing it off scientist (which many say are stranger than any wizard) would be more fitting, thus I've decided to name this creature:

Archimedes

Doomdozer
