Full Telepathy. (warlock only) this spirit is fully sentient and can relay information and communicate intricate thoughts to a warlock master.
Ghastly Flame Body. the barely corporeal flame of this spirits body doesn't illuminate its surroundings very well. only offering 5ft. radius of dim light from itself. Can however hide its flaming light into the Ethereal plane, but risks attracting entities of the spirit plane to its location. when doing so, appears as blue embered black smoke on the material that still keeps to the shape of the spirit.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 4) force damage.
Wisping Bolts. The spirit spits animated wisps of blue flame that fly towards 1 target within 45 feet. Breath weapon attack: +4 to hit, reach 45 ft., 3 targets. Hit:3 (1d4 + 1) fire damage.
Ignition Touch. The spirit focuses on its contact with a singular burnable object or being applying the burning condition to the entity. Entities subjected to this action must roll a DEX save of 14 or higher to avoid the burned condition. Targets that are burned this way take 1d4 fire damage upon DEX save fail and on the beginning of their next 3 turns. they must take an action to put out the lingering flames of this status effect if they wish to avoid further burning.
Dim Willowed Light. The spirit as a bonus action can transmute the light of its body into an ethereal one. Obscuring its material blue flame body into one of blue embered black smoke that doesn't give off any light. Which offers a +3 to stealth in dark of dimly lit places. In turn, its body sheds dim light in the ethereal plane to a radius of 10ft.
Fiery Radiance: This spirit upon dying explodes. all creatures and objects within 5 feet other than this creature roll a DEX Save of 16 or higher. failing roll means they take 6 points of fire damage. objects caught in explosion and not destroyed become ignited.
This is an automatic reaction the spirit takes upon dying.
Description
A draconic flaming spirit, from the elemental plane of fire, taking the shape of a small wyrmling of ghastly blue fire.
Spirit form is 4-foot-long body, 3.5-foot wingspan, Amphithere style shape.
While it is a spirit of flame, its body doesn't burn things on contact unless intended.
These Draconic spirits tend to form social flocks or mutualist companionship with other entities for survival. Thanks to warlock patrons hailing from the plane of fire, they sometimes offer these spirits as helpful familiars to their warlock contractors as part of trade and/or payment for services. Often times forming a soul bond between the flame spirit and warlock, connecting their minds so long as they're within a relatively short distance of each other.
This soul bond often takes the form of a primordial brand somewhere on the warlock. The brand acts as a seal that binds the familiar to the warlock. If the familiar dies and the warlock lives, the warlock can reform the flaming vessel of the spirit through the Find Familiar ritual. Teasing out the spirits soul from the brand and into its new body. If the opposite happens, then usually the brand burns itself away from the warlock's flesh. freeing the spirit and sending it back under the patron's care.
