Shadow Form. The ShadowBound Skeleton can move through a space as narrow as 6 inches wide without squeezing. It has advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made in dim light or darkness. It cannot end its turn in a space too small for it.
Light Sensitivity. While in bright light, the skeleton has disadvantage on attack rolls and Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.
Deathly Stillness. The skeleton makes no sound from movement. Its attacks do not make noise.
Shadow Stitch. When the skeleton is reduced to 0 hit points, it dissolves into shadow and reforms in 1 minute with 1 hit point unless it is in bright light or takes radiant damage.
Shadow Blade. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target.
Hit: 8 (1d8 + 3) necrotic damage. If the target is in dim light or darkness, it takes an additional 4 (1d8) necrotic damage.
Grasp of the Grave. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature.
Hit: 6 (1d6 + 1) cold damage, and the target’s speed is reduced by 10 ft. until the end of its next turn.
Fade. The skeleton takes the Hide action.
Shadow Parry. When a creature the skeleton can see hits it with a melee attack, the skeleton can reduce the damage by 1d5 if it is in dim light or darkness.
Description
Origin
ShadowBound Skeletons are created when necromancy is fused with shadow magic—often by warlocks of the Shadowfell, necromancers seeking stealthy undead, or places where death and darkness overlap.
Combat Style
- Strikes from darkness, avoids bright light
- Uses teleportation to reposition
- Retreats into shadows when damaged
- Works well in groups, ambushing from multiple angles
Environment
- Shadow-choked ruins
- Catacombs touched by the Shadowfell
- Forests at night
- The lairs of shadow mages or undead warlord
- They look like Flaming skeletons except the fire is black and the bones are cyan and they glow cyan.
