Description

The Empress Deathmoths are the undisputed masters of the deathmoth hives. Their enormous antennae and pheromones allow them to effectively control their colony, and their intelligence, far superior to the average of their race, enables them to employ tactics to conquer as much territory as possible. Their telepathy, rarely used to control the hive, is primarily used to communicate with other species, in a blend of images and sensations.

Lair and Lair Actions

An Empress Deathmoth's lair is a labyrinth formed from resin secreted by the deathmoths, containing numerous larvae within its walls, floors, and ceilings. The lair can be manipulated at the Empress's will by sending vibrations to the larvae. Such a lair can extend for several kilometers and house hundreds of individuals.

"What is this? It looks like some kind of resin... There is larvaes insi..."

Wilfrid, Blood Hunter, palping a deathmoth lair, last words.

Modifiable Lair. The Empress Deathmoth can alter the hive's layout by sending signals to the larvae within it. Modifications can include holes up to 15 ft deep, pillars up to 30 ft high, or blocking tunnels inside the hive. (Elements such as spikes are permitted.)
