Traits

The Smackle Scent. Bear can smell Fae energy and food within 120 feet. He can identify the school of magic by its "flavor."

Immovable Bulk. Bear as advantage on saving throws against being moved or knocked prone. He can occupy the same space as a Small creature, providing that creature with 3/4 cover.

Amber Resin. Any creature that hits Bear with a melee attack must succeed on a DC 13 Strength save or have their weapon become stuck in his sticky fur. It requires an action to pull the weapon free.

The Walking Hearth: In cold climates, Bear radiates a gentle warmth. Allies within 10 feet are immune to Extreme Cold. During a Long Rest, allies regain one additional Hit Die.

Snacking Intuition: If an NPC tells a direct lie within 10 feet of Bear, his stomach lets out a long, judgmental rumble.

The Gentle Bulldozer: Bear can push or pull up to 1,000 lbs of dead weight (boulders, wagons, debris) without an Athletics check, provided he is being "led" by a snack.

Restful Slumber: Spending 10 minutes brushing the leaves out of Bear's fur grants the benefits of a Lesser Restoration (removes blinded, deafened, paralyzed, or poisoned).

Dignified. Bear does not use his bite or claws; he finds it uncivilized.

Actions

The Heavy Lean. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: The target is Grappled (escape DC 15 Strength (Athletics) check at the start of their turn). While grappled, the target is Prone as Bear simply leans his full weight against them.

Lumbering Charge.  Dexterity Saving Throw: DC 15, each creature in a 30-foot-long. 5-foot-wide line. Failure:  9 (2d8) Force damage, the targets Speed is halved until the end of its next turn, and the target is knocked Prone.

The Weighted Flop. Bear falls prone, any creature within 5 feet must succeed on a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw or be Restrained beneath him. A restrained creature can use an action to make a DC 15 Strength (Athletics) check to escape

Description

A grizzly bear of immense proportions, though he carries his weight with a slumped, lumbering laziness. His coat is a replica of every autumn color: a base of honey-gold fur topped with a "mantle" of vibrant crimson across his shoulders. His fur is not merely hair, but a thick, plush thatch of brittle maple and oak leaves that crunch when he moves. Two jagged scars sit atop his head occasionally weeping a golden, sweet-smelling resin. He moves with a rhythmic, heavy thud and smells perpetually of woodsmoke, fermented blackberries, and rain.
