Traits

Exalted Restoration. If the Valkyrie dies outside Ysgard, its body disappears, and it gains a new body instantly, reviving with all its Hit Points somewhere in Ysgard.

Legendary Resistance (1/Day). If the solar fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.

Magic Resistance. The solar has Advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

❖ Soul Claim Failure (Passive). Hraefn is designed to claim the souls of the fallen.

  • When a creature drops to 0 HP within 30 ft, Hraefn may use his reaction to attempt to Claim the Soul
  • The creature must make a DC 15 Charisma save

On Failure:
The creature stabilizes but becomes Marked for Passage (cannot regain HP until end of next turn)

On Success (OR if the creature is “unaccounted for” like Zigga):

  • The ability fails
  • Hraefn takes 10 psychic damage
  • He becomes Visibly Disturbed (disadvantage on next attack)

👉 This is the first sign something is wrong with the system

⚖️ AURA OF JUDGMENT (ABJURATION FIELD)

❖ Field of Worth (15 ft aura).

  • Reality tightens around Hraefn.
  • Enemies have disadvantage on death saving throws
  • Allies gain +2 AC while above half HP

Creatures attempting to teleport or phase must succeed DC 15 Wisdom save or fail

👉 He enforces order over chaos, even in battle

Actions

Multiattack. The solar makes two Spear attacks.

Soul-Calling Spear. Melee or Ranged Attack Roll: +7, reach 10 ft. or range 20/60 ft. Hit:  (1d8 + 4) piercing damage plus (2d6) Radiant damage. Hit or Miss: The sword magically returns to the solar’s hand or hovers within 5 feet of the solar immediately after a ranged attack.

On hit vs creature below half HP:

  • Target must make DC 15 Con save

  • On fail: movement speed halved, and cannot take reactions

Recall the Fallen (Recharge 5–6). Hraefn slams his spear into the ground. All creatures of his choice within 20 ft must make DC 15 Wis save.

On fail:

  • Take 3d8 radiant
  • Be pulled 10 ft toward him
  • Cannot willingly move away next turn

On success: Half damage, no pull

👉 He doesn’t chase—he draws fate to himself

Bonus Actions

🌀 FRACTURE MECHANIC — “THIS ONE DOES NOT BELONG”

❖ Glitch Recognition (Special — Zigga Trigger). When Hraefn targets or witnesses Zigga: He must make a DC 13 Wisdom save

On failure:

  • He hesitates
  • Loses reaction
  • Cannot target Zigga until end of next turn

On success:

  • He may act normally
  • But gains “Fixation”

Fixation (Stacking Effect). Each time Hraefn fails to process Zigga: +1 stack (max 3)

At 3 stacks:He stops attacking entirely for 1 round
Speaks instead: Y"ou were… counted. Why are you not counted?”

👉 This is your first RP breach moment

Reactions

🛡️ REACTION ENGINE — PROTECTOR OF THE CHOSEN

❖ Intercede Fate (Reaction, 3/Day). When a creature within 30 ft is hit

  • Reduce damage by 2d10 + 5
  • If the target is below half HP, they also gain:
  • Advantage on next saving throw

Flavor: A spectral wing briefly manifests, intercepting fate itself.

Legendary Actions

Legendary Action Uses: 3. Immediately after another creature’s turn, the solar can expend a use to take one of the following actions. The solar regains all expended uses at the start of each of its turns.

Radiant Teleport. The solar teleports up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space it can see.

Description

These warrior women, armed with cruel-looking swords, sit astride massive winged wolves. Each of them is as beautiful, graceful, and fierce as a well-honed war axe.

Choosers of the Slain. Valkyries are sent by Odin to decide the course of battles and harvest the souls of brave fallen warriors. Riding winged wolves (use the statistics of a winter wolf with a flying speed of 80 feet and a neutral alignment), they visit battlefields to do their master’s will, surrounded by crows and ravens. Valkyries remain hidden among the ravens during these missions, acting only when fate decrees.

Love Battle. Valkyries love battle and bloodshed, and their presence on the battlefield inspires warriors to great acts of valor and heroism.

Neutral Parties. Valkyries seldom interfere in mortal affairs, save to ensure the proper course of battles. When duty demands, as a punishment, or when they fall in love, a valkyrie may wander the mortal world.

🔥 HOW TO RUN HIM IN COMBAT

Early Rounds (1–2):

  • Tactical, controlled

  • Uses Intercede Fate

  • Targets wounded enemies

  • Ignores Zigga (confused, not hostile)

Mid Combat (3–4):

  • Begins targeting Zigga indirectly

  • Uses Recall the Fallen

  • Fails to execute Soul Claim on her

If Zigga Falls:

🚨 CRITICAL STORY TRIGGER

He attempts to claim her soul.

  • Automatically fails

  • Takes max psychic damage

  • Drops to one knee

“No… no… this one is not permitted…”

He cannot take her.

He cannot leave her.

He cannot understand her.

🌌 WHAT THIS SETS UP

This version of Hraefn is:

  • Not in love

  • Not emotional

  • Not broken

But he has encountered a paradox.

And in Planescape…

👉 Paradox is the beginning of transformation

Habitat: Planar (Upper Planes)
