Description
Drow society is based upon violence, murder, cunning, and the philosophy that only the strong survive (though in Drow tongue, a quirk of the language creates a reversal of cause-and-effect; more correctly, it can be translated as "those who survive are strong"). The drow warrior is an example of the standard shock troop of drow noble houses. Dexterous and cunning, the drow warrior prefers to stand behind war spiders or lesser gobliniod troops while they hary the enemy at the edges of the fight.
Drow are particularly skilled with two weapon fighting and many of their experienced warriors can load and fire a hand crossbow while still fighting with a light weapon in the opposite hand. They will use this technique to its utmost effectiveness by casting spells such as faerie fire or darkness while also firing a poisonous bolt with the offhand. Once spells are expended they will dash or dodge around the battlefield preferring to engage in melee only when an opponent appears to be suffering some disadvantage.
Drow warriors are also equipped with special garments suffused with the magic of the underdark. A trained drow clad in such a way can move extremely quietly in shadows. A drow's special cloak and boots along with their special poison will degrade quickly once exposed to the surface world and no longer bathed by the magical faerzress radiation.
