False Appearance (Submerged): While the Maw remains motionless underwater, it is indistinguishable from a jagged obsidian reef or a pile of volcanic rock.
Shatter-Back: Whenever a creature hits the maw with a melee attack while within 5 feet of it, the attacker takes 1d8 piercing damage as obsidian shards fly of its hide.
Void-Buoyancy: The Maw can walk on the surface of "Glassed" or "Silver-Black" water as if it were solid ground.
Multiattack: The Vitrified Maw makes two attacks: one with its Bite and one with its Tail.
Bite: Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 10 ft. Hit: 3d10 + 6 piercing damage plus 1d10 necrotic damage. The target is Grappled ( escape DC 17 ). Until this grapple ends, the target is Restrained, and the Maw can't bite another target.
Pressure-Grind (The "Death Roll"): The Maw performs a terrifying roll. A creature it is grappling must make a DC 17 Strength Saving Throw. On a failure, they take 4d10 + 6 bludgeoning damage and are Prone. On a success, they take half damage and aren't knocked prone.
Tail Sweep: Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 15 ft. Hit: 2d12 + 6 bludgeoning damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 17 Strength Saving Throw or be pushed 10 feet away and knocked Prone.
