Bernardling (Baby Bernard)

Bernards are large, round-in-shape bipedal magical beasts with two large horns atop their head. They are covered in thick, dense fur and have tough hides. Bernards are always hungry, and will attempt to eat nearly anything they can, if it suits them. Though they sport large claws on both their feet and hands, Bernards tend to only use their horns or teeth in fights.

Bernards are born pink (female) or blue (male) and grow slowly until they reach puberty at roughly 25-35 years of age, where they shed their baby fur and grow an extremely dense coat of soft, fuzzy purple fur.  Around the age of 80, a Bernard reaches adulthood, and their coat begins to thicken into long clumps of dense grey fur. Bernards live roughly 1,000 years.  Elder Bernards are a lighter shade of grey and their horns have grown to curl in on themselves, like those of a Ram, or Goat. They can weigh up to 250kg and stand up to 2.5 meters tall.

Bernards are highly intelligent and capable of speaking Common. However, when speaking Common, Bernards speak a strange dialect known as "Bernardian Common". This is simply Common, but every pronoun is replaced with 'Bernard'.
