The Eye of Precognition: Valencina begins with 30 charges of The Eye of Precognition, which activate automatically upon entering combat. For each successive attack dodged or each successful action made, she loses 1 charge and gains 1 overheat. When all charges are spent, she loses 1 overheat for every action spent in combat from all parties. The Eye of Precognition recharges either from losing all overheat (which resets its charges to 30) or by spending a short rest. When the Eye of Precognition is active, all rolls to hit are +2. Without need of an action, automatically use the dodge action and roll a dexterity check at advantage. If the result from this check is higher than the oncoming attack's to hit roll, she also dodges the attack. If she has a reaction, she can use it to make a counterattack with a light or finesse weapon.
The Shame of Famiglia Bognatelli: Valencina rolls a critical hit on a natural 18+ when using an attack that uses an Acceleration Round. When the Eye of Precognition overheats, Valencina's AC drops by 4. When Valencina runs out of Acceleration Rounds, her AC drops by 1.
La Spada Di Palermo: When dealing more than 25 damage to a target in a turn, the target must succeed a DC14 dexterity check or be knocked prone. If the target is knocked prone, Valencina gains an additional 2 damage to her next damage roll. Valencina does 1.5x damage against bonus health of any kind if the target has suffered burn damage during the encounter.
Shin (心) - Valencina: When Valencina takes damage or if Lucio is defeated in the encounter, she will roll a wisdom saving throw at disadvantage. If she successfully passes a DC16 check, she gains +2AC and gains 25 bonus health. This effect expires at turn end, and Valencina must roll the check again or lose these effects.
Lucio! You useless little shit!: When Lucio is defeated, retreats, or is not present, activates the Time to Hunt passive. Functions as her mythic form.
Time to Hunt: Marks a random enemy with Game Target. When attacking the marked enemy, Valencina gets +2 to hit rolls, and cannot target any other enemies. If the enemy has the Game Target mark for 4 turns, Valencina will use the attack Disposal on them. Alternatively, Valencina can change her target by attacking a different enemy.
Colpi di Taglio: Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 10ft, 1 target. 16 (4D6+4) slashing, 2 (1D4) burn. Valencina make a series of furious slashes at an incredible speed.
Colpi di Punta: Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 15ft, 1 target. 14 (3D8+2) piercing, 2 (1D4) burn. Valencina makes several thrusting strikes at the enemy in quick succession. Can use 1 Acceleration Round to gain +2 to hit and deal an additional 2D4 burn damage.
I'll Gladly Blast a Hole Through You: Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 20ft, 1 target. 10 (2D8+2) piercing, 6 (2D4+4) slashing. Valencina does several piercing thrusts of the rapier before slashing quickly. Can use 1 Acceleration Round to gain +2 to hit and deal an additional 2D4 burn damage.
Sezionatura di Cervo: Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 20ft, 1 target. 16 (4D6+4) slashing damage, 4 (2D4) piercing and 2 (1D4) burn. Valencina can make a DC14 Wisdom saving throw at disadvantage to generate one Mang (望) (1.8x damage). Valencina does a flourish of slashes before piercing the enemy with a burning hot sword.
Sezionatura di Elefante: Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 20ft, 1 target. 18 (2D6+6) slashing damage, 12 (4D4+4) piercing damage. Valencina can make a DC14 Wisdom saving throw at disadvantage to generate one Mang (望) (1.8x damage). Can use 2 Acceleration Rounds to gain +3 to hit and deal an additional 3D4 burn damage. Valencina performs a lesser all-out attack with both blades in full flourish, charging down an enemy and breaking their defenses. Additionally, for every burn damage the target has taken in the past 2 turns, she does an extra burn damage.
Detached Command: As a reaction, command Lucio to redirect the attack away from herself by using I Will Protect.
When Valencina successfully dodges an attack with her Eye of Precognition passive, she can use a free action to retaliate with Sezionatura di Cogniglio.
Sezionatura di Coniglio: Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10ft, 1 target. 8 (2D6+2) piercing damage, 6 (2D4+2) slashing damage. Valencina slashes at her target before landing a piercing blow.
When Valencina activates her Time to Hunt passive, she must fulfil the conditions before being able to use Disposal. Disposal can be used in place of an action.
Disposal: Melee Weapon Attack: (Only usable with conditions met), +5 to hit, reach 15ft, 1 target. 16 (6D4+4) piercing, 14 (4D6+2) slashing, 2D4 burn damage. Valencina can make a DC14 Wisdom saving throw at disadvantage to generate one Mang (望) (1.8x damage). When using this attack, spend all remaining loaded Acceleration Rounds and gain +1 to hit for every Acceleration Round used. Valencina launches an all-out attack at one specific target after predicting their movements, dealing a tremendous amount of damage before switching her prey.
Description
Valencina is a woman in her mid-40s, with one functional eye, sandy blond hair covering half her face and the crimson red and gold uniform of the Thumb. She has an emerald eye and wears a red and gold borsalino. She wields two swords, the Palermitan Rapier (which has a barrel that can be used to load Acceleration Rounds) and the Palermitan Cleaver, as well as the Eye of Precognition. She is sadistic, disciplined, and has a hyper-inflated ego. Despite being considered the shame of La Famiglia Bognatelli, she holds herself in high regard, taking excessive pride in her position as a veteran of the Smoke War. She has a severe drinking and tobacco addiction. She has a tendency to look down upon those she considers weaker than her, while also consistently thinking herself much better than she really is. In combat, she prefers rushdown attacks and one-on-one duels that last long. Being a disgraced Sottocapo, she is arrogant and extremely hierarchical.
Lair and Lair Actions
The Corridor of The Thumb is a lavishly decorated space with shelves upon shelves of the finest alcohol and tobacco the City has to offer. It has a myraid of rooms, all decorated with crimson red and gold accents. By nature, it is a Corridor space and therefore liminal.
At any time, Valencina can open one of the many shelves and take out a bottle of alcohol or smoke a cigar. Drinking gives her a net -1 to all rolls, and smoking makes her passive perception go down by 2.
