Traits

Chicken Control. If there is at least one living Abyssal Chicken under the Abyssal Chicken Wranglers control, at the start of each of its turns, the Abyssal Chicken Wrangler must make a DC 5 Charisma saving throw. On a successful save, the Abyssal Chickens stay under the Wranglers control. On a fail, the Abyssal Chickens break free of their control, and turn on the Abyssal Chicken Wrangler. The DC goes up by 1 for each living Abyssal Chicken under the Wranglers control.

Devil’s Sight. Magical darkness doesn’t impede the devil’s darkvison.

Flyby. The devil doesn’t provoke an opportunity attack when it flies out of an enemy’s reach.

Magic Resistance. The devil has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Actions

Multiattack. The devil makes two attacks: one with its bite and one with its fork or twice with its Bag of Chickens.

Bag of Chickens. Melee Weapon Attack: +2 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 2 (1d4) bludgeoning damage.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +2 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (2d4) slashing damage.

Fork. Melee Weapon Attack: +2 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 3 (1d6) piercing damage.

Release Chickens! The Abyssal Chicken Wrangler releases 1d4 + 1 Abyssal Chickens under its control from its bag. The Abyssal Chickens act after the Abyssal Chicken Wrangler.

Description

You might have heard of the creatures known as Abyssal Chickens. Small, tasty, fierce. Sometimes devils are sent to collect them and sell them on the Material Plane. The reason why is unknown, though some, naturally, assume that buying an Abyssal Chicken from these devils will cause your soul to emerge from the River Styx. Payments are always made in coin, never souls. When asked about who put them up to this task, these devils mutter under their breath about someone named “Gorlok”. Further questions on this topic usually result in no response. The Abyssal Chickens themselves are excellent with the secret spices that can only be acquired with a Heward’s Handy Spice Pouch.
