Boon of Immortality. Bonnetta doesn’t age and can’t die from old age.
Legendary Resistance (3/Day or 4/Day in Lair). If Bonnetta fails a saving throw, she can choose to succeed instead.
Magic Resistance. Bonnetta has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Aura of Summer’s Grace. Creatures of Bonnetta’s choice within 30 feet of her have resistance to necrotic damage and advantage on saving throws against being frightened. Enemies in the aura have disadvantage on saving throws against being charmed.
Verdant Sovereignty. Plants within 60 feet of Bonnetta animate under her control. The area is difficult terrain for her enemies, and she ignores this terrain. Once per turn, she can force a creature in the area to succeed on a DC 22 Strength saving throw or be restrained until the end of its next turn.
Spellcasting. Bonnetta casts one of the following spells, requiring no material components and using Intelligence as the spellcasting ability (spell save DC 22, +14 to hit with spell attacks):
At will: charm person, detect magic, disguise self, invisibility, minor illusion, druidcraft
3/day each: blight, dominate person, greater invisibility, plant growth
1/day each: mass suggestion, feeblemind, sunburst
Multiattack. Bonnetta makes two Radiant Thorn attacks or uses Spellcasting.
Radiant Thorn. Melee or Ranged Spell Attack: +14 to hit, reach 10 ft. or range 120 ft. Hit: 27 (4d8 + 8) radiant damage plus 10 (3d6) force damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 22 Wisdom saving throw or be charmed until the end of its next turn.
Bloom of the Summer Court (Recharge 5–6). Bonnetta calls forth explosive life energy in a 30-foot-radius sphere within 120 feet. Creatures of her choice in the area regain 40 hit points. Other creatures must succeed on a DC 22 Constitution saving throw, taking 45 (10d8) radiant damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one. On a failed save, a creature is also blinded until the end of its next turn. The area becomes lightly obscured by overgrowth until the end of Bonnetta’s next turn.
Call of Verdant Spirits (1/Day). Bonnetta summons fey allies, choosing one of the following options: 2d4 Dryads or 1 Treant. The creatures appear in unoccupied spaces within 60 feet of her, act immediately after her in initiative order, and remain for 1 minute or until reduced to 0 hit points.
Fey Step (Summer). Bonnetta teleports up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space she can see. Upon arrival, allies within 10 feet gain 10 temporary hit points, and enemies in that area must succeed on a DC 22 Constitution saving throw or be blinded until the start of Bonnetta’s next turn.
Verdant Reversal (3/Day). When a creature Bonnetta can see within 60 feet casts a spell, she can cause the spell to fail. One creature of her choice within 60 feet then regains hit points equal to 10 times the spell’s level.
Bonnetta can take 3 (4 in lair) legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn. Bonnetta regains spent legendary actions at the start of her turn.
Radiant Thorn. Bonnetta makes one Radiant Thorn attack.
Fey Step. Bonnetta uses Fey Step (Summer).
Overgrowth (Costs 2 Actions). Vines erupt in a 20-foot cube Bonnetta can see within 60 feet. Each creature in the area must succeed on a DC 22 Strength saving throw or be restrained until the end of its next turn.
Sovereign Charm (Costs 3 Actions). Bonnetta targets one creature she can see within 60 feet. The target must succeed on a DC 22 Charisma saving throw or be charmed for 1 minute. While charmed, the creature regards Bonnetta as a beloved sovereign and won’t attack her. The creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Description
Bonnetta H’en is the embodiment of summer at its most perfect—warm, radiant, and full of life without restraint.
Her presence brings stillness, not from fear, but from awe. Sunlight seems to gather around her, bending gently to frame her form. Her hair flows in strands of living gold and green, threaded with blossoms that never wilt. Her skin carries the soft glow of late afternoon light, and her eyes shine with a calm, knowing warmth that seems to see the best in those before her.
Where she walks, flowers bloom—not explosively, but naturally, as though the world itself is pleased by her passing.
There is nothing artificial in her beauty. No illusion, no disguise, no hidden seams.
She is not pretending to be something else.
She became it.
Before the Bloom
Long ago, Bonnetta was a hag.
Cunning. Patient. Dangerous.
She wove misery into quiet, lasting forms—twisting love into dependency, hope into slow decay. Unlike many of her kind, she was not driven by rage or hunger alone. She understood beauty deeply… and resented that she could only ever distort it.
But over time, something changed.
Not through defeat. Not through punishment.
Through exposure.
The One Who Showed Her Another Way
She encountered Bendu not as an enemy, but as a contradiction.
Where she believed beauty must be broken to be understood, he showed that it could exist freely—without manipulation, without cost.
He did not fight her.
He did not curse her.
He simply allowed her to see a world where she didn’t have to be what she was.
And for the first time in her existence… she wanted something different.
The Choice
The transformation was not forced.
It was not a bargain.
It was a request.
Bonnetta asked to be remade—not to hide what she was, but to leave it behind.
Bendu did not overwrite her.
He answered her desire.
Her form changed.
Her magic changed.
Even her nature shifted.
Not erased—but re-rooted.
Like something once twisted, now growing straight toward the sun.
What She Is Now
Bonnetta is no longer a hag in any hidden sense.
- Her beauty is real
- Her compassion is genuine
- Her power nurtures as much as it destroys
But her past remains—not as a flaw, but as a foundation.
She understands cruelty better than most.
She recognizes manipulation instantly.
She knows exactly what it means to choose something better… because she did.
Her Devotion to Bendu
Her love for Bendu is unwavering.
Not out of obligation.
Not out of debt.
But because:
He gave her the chance to become what she truly wanted to be.
She stands beside him not as a creation, but as an equal—one who chose the same path he represents.
Where he is nature in its vast, untamed form, she is its refinement:
- Growth guided by intention
- Beauty without cruelty
- Power expressed through harmony
Behavior
Bonnetta is gentle—but not naive.
- She offers kindness freely, but not blindly
- She rewards sincerity and rejects manipulation
- She sees through deception immediately
When angered, she does not lash out wildly.
She becomes precise.
Controlled.
Decisive.
Like a gardener removing rot before it spreads.
Her Power
Her magic reflects her transformation:
- Life flourishes in her presence
- Allies feel strengthened, seen, and valued
- Enemies are overwhelmed not by fear—but by the weight of her presence
Even her destructive magic feels purposeful—like sunlight that burns only what cannot grow.
How Others See Her
Among the Fey:
- Many revere her as a symbol of transformation
- Some distrust her, remembering what she once was
- A few quietly fear what it means that a hag could truly change
Using Bonnetta in Your Campaign
She works best as:
- A powerful ally and patron
- A figure of hope and transformation
- A ruler who values choice over control
- A counterpoint to darker fey forces
She is not a hidden villain.
She is something rarer:
Proof that even the worst nature can choose to grow into something better.
Core Theme
Bonnetta isn’t “Beauty hiding a Beast.”
She is:
The Beast who chose to become Beauty—
and succeeded.
