Void-Core Heart
The dragon’s chest contains a living singularity.
- Creatures that start their turn within 20 feet must succeed on a Wisdom save or feel reality distort around them.
- On a failed save:
- movement speed is halved,
- they cannot take reactions,
- and shadows whisper incoherently in their minds.
Visual:
Purple galaxy-light pulses through cracks in its chest.
Eyes Beyond Time
The dragon perceives fractured timelines.
- It cannot be surprised,
- gains advantage on initiative,
- and once per round may impose disadvantage on an attack against it as it “already saw” the strike.
Its six eyes blink independently seconds before attacks occur.
Living Shadow Wings
Its wings are partially incorporeal.
- It can move through magical darkness unhindered.
- Opportunity attacks against it are made with disadvantage.
- When flying, darkness trails behind it in a 30-foot wake.
Abyssal Regeneration
The dragon feeds on fear and dying magic.
At the start of its turn:
- it regains hit points if standing in darkness,
- or when a creature within 60 feet is frightened or unconscious.
Radiant damage suppresses this regeneration for 1 round.
Bite
Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target.
Hit:
- 2d10 + 3 piercing damage
- plus 1d6 necrotic damage
The target must succeed on a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened until the end of its next turn.
Claw
Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target.
Hit:
- 2d8 + 3 slashing damage
- plus 1d6 force damage
If the target is concentrating on a spell, it has disadvantage on the save to maintain concentration.
Tail Swipe
Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target.
Hit:
- 2d10 + 3 bludgeoning damage
The target must succeed on a DC 14 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Voidstep Shift
The Voidmaw Sovereign subtly slips between dimensions.
The dragon teleports up to 30 feet to a space it can see in dim light or darkness.
Until the start of its next turn:
- it does not provoke opportunity attacks,
- and it has advantage on Dexterity saving throws.
Flavor: its body “lags” for a split second, leaving a violet shadow afterimage.
Gravitic Pull
The dragon bends gravity toward itself around one creature it can see within 30 feet.
The target must succeed on a DC 14 Strength saving throw or:
- be pulled up to 10 feet closer,
- and have its speed reduced by 10 feet until the start of its next turn.
If the target is already within 10 feet, it is instead knocked slightly off balance (no movement but disadvantage on its next attack).
Shadow Veil
The Voidmaw Sovereign briefly merges with nearby darkness.
Until the start of its next turn:
- it lightly obscured itself (even in dim light),
- and has advantage on Stealth checks or escape attempts.
If it is in darkness, it also gains +2 AC against the next attack.
Void Flicker
When the Voidmaw Sovereign is hit by an attack, it momentarily phases into shadow.
The dragon gains a +3 bonus to its AC against the triggering attack, potentially causing it to miss.
If the attack misses, the attacker takes 1d8 psychic damage as unsettling whispers echo through their mind.
Visual effect:
The dragon’s body briefly breaks apart into drifting black-purple smoke before reforming instantly.
Legendary Resistance (3/Day)
If the Voidmaw Sovereign fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.
When it uses this trait:
- purple energy flashes beneath its scales,
- and nearby shadows briefly twist unnaturally.
Void-Touched Scales
The dragon’s scales partially absorb magical energy.
- It has resistance to necrotic and psychic damage.
- Once per turn, when hit by a spell attack, it reduces the damage by 1d10.
Spells striking its scales cause ripples of purple-black energy.
