Pack Tactics. The wolf has advantage on attack rolls against a creature if at least one ally is within 5 feet of the creature and not incapacitated.
Adaptive Consumption. If the wolf takes the same damage type or environmental condition effect twice in a row, it gains one adaptation: Resistance to that damage type, or Advantage on Stealth checks in that environment type. The wolf can maintain two adaptations at once. If it gains a third, it replaces the oldest.
Chromatic Predator. The wolf can subtly shift coloration to match terrain and lighting conditions. It has advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made in natural terrain, and it does not lose hidden status immediately after moving through lightly obscured areas.
Fire-Instinct Weakness. When the wolf takes fire damage: It cannot use Stealth until the end of its next turn and it has disadvantage on attack rolls until then.
Adaptive Bite. Melee Attack Roll: +5, reach 5 ft. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) Piercing damage plus the target must succeed on a DC 11 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. If the wolf has at least one active adaptation, the bite gains one of the following effects.
- Cold/Acid/Lightning resistance adaptation: bite deals +2 damage.
- Stealth adaptation: wolf can immediately attempt to Hide as a bonus action after attacking
- Environmental adaptation: wolf ignores difficult terrain for 1 turn after hitting
Description
Its fur is uneven, as though it cannot decide what it is supposed to look like. Patches subtly shift in tone depending on the surrounding terrain, and its movements feel too deliberate for a predator that should be instinct-driven.
