Adamantine Corruption Aura

Creatures that start their turn within 15 feet of the Tyrant take:

  • 7 (2d6) fire damage
  • 7 (2d6) necrotic damage

Creatures damaged this way cannot regain hit points until the start of their next turn.

The area within 15 feet of the Tyrant is considered difficult terrain due to molten crystal growths.

Crystal Plating

Critical hits against the Tyrant become normal hits unless the attacker deals cold damage as part of the attack.

Molten Blood

Whenever a creature within 5 feet hits the Tyrant with a melee attack, that creature takes 7 (2d6) fire damage.

Legendary Resistance (3/Day)

If the Tyrant fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.

Siege Monster

The Tyrant deals double damage to objects and structures.

Actions

Multiattack

The Tyrant makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.

Bite

Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target.
Hit: 22 (2d12 + 9) piercing damage plus 13 (3d8) fire damage.

Claw

Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target.
Hit: 17 (2d8 + 8) slashing damage plus 4 (1d8) fire damage.

Tail Slam

Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target.
Hit: 20 (2d10 + 9) bludgeoning damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 19 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Corruption Flame Breath (Recharge 5–6)

The Tyrant exhales a wave of molten crimson-black fire in a 60-foot cone.

Each creature in the area must make a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw, taking:

  • 54 (12d8) fire damage
  • 18 (4d8) necrotic damage

on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one.

Creatures that fail are also Corrupted for 1 minute:

  • Speed reduced by 10 feet
  • Cannot regain hit points
  • Take 7 (2d6) fire damage at the start of their turns

A creature can make a DC 16 CON saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.

Adamantine Shard Eruption (Recharge 4–6)

The Tyrant causes jagged crimson crystals to explode outward from its body.

Each creature within 30 feet must make a DC 19 Dexterity saving throw, taking:

  • 31 (7d8) piercing damage
  • 18 (4d8) fire damage

on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one.

The affected area becomes difficult terrain until cleared.

Legendary Actions

The Tyrant can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn.

Detect

The Tyrant makes a Wisdom (Perception) check.

Molten Step

The Tyrant moves up to half its speed without provoking opportunity attacks.

Wing Buffet

Creatures within 15 feet must succeed on a DC 19 Dexterity saving throw or take 13 (3d8) bludgeoning damage and be pushed 15 feet away.

Crystal Burst (Costs 2 Actions)

The Tyrant launches razor-sharp adamantine shards at a creature it can see within 60 feet.

Melee or Ranged Spell Attack: +10 to hit.
Hit: 18 (4d8) piercing damage plus 9 (2d8) fire damage.

Volcanic Roar (Costs 3 Actions)

The Tyrant releases a terrifying roar infused with corruption.

Each enemy creature within 60 feet must succeed on a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A frightened creature can repeat the save at the end of each of its turns.

Lair and Lair Actions

When fought in volcanic caverns, corrupted forge-temples, or adamantine-infested tunnels, the Tyrant can invoke lair actions on initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties):

Molten Fissure

A 30-foot-long, 5-foot-wide fissure erupts from the ground. Creatures in the line must make a DC 17 Dexterity saving throw or take 18 (4d8) fire damage.

Crystal Spires

Crimson adamantine spikes erupt from the ground in a 20-foot radius centered on a point the Tyrant can see within 120 feet. The area becomes difficult terrain.

Volcanic Smoke

Black volcanic smoke fills a 30-foot-radius sphere. The area becomes heavily obscured until initiative count 20 on the next round.
