Traits

Misfortune. Whenever a use of the Infernal Die Roll results in a Misfortune, increment the Misfortune-Counter by 1.

The following Effects apply, depending on the Misfortune-Counter. The Effects are cumulative:

  1. The House Always Wins:
    The Dice Demon gains a Legendary Resistance

  2. Shifting Odds:

    All creatures targeting the Dice Demon subtract 1 from their Attack Rolls against it.

  3. Weighted Fate:
    The Misfortune-Counter now triggers on blank faces as well.

  4. Loaded Die:
    When the Infernal Die Roll is used, the Dice Demon can throw the Infernal Die twice and choose the result.

After all effects are active, further Incrementations of the Misfortune-Counter grant the Dice Demon (Misfortune-Counter- 4) * 1d10 Temporary Hit Points. For example if the Misfortune-Counter is at 6, the Dice Demon gains 2d10 Temporary Hit Points

Actions

Infernal Die Roll.

The Dice Demon rolls the Infernal Die. If it hits a numbered face, it chooses a target at random. Then the Dice Demon rolls a D6, determining the Attribute that is used for the Saving Throw. The DC is 17. On a successful save the target only takes half damage. Afterwards the face is "used up" and turns blank.

If it hits a blank face, the Dice Demon looses either its bludgeoning, piercing, slashing or all magic immunities at random. Furthermore, one of the following effects is chosen at random.

  1. Dice Swap:
    Randomly swap the positions of two creatures

  2. Loaded Fate:
    A random enemy cannot gain advantage until the end of their turn

  3. Infernal Recall:
    Restore one of the numbered sides to its original value at random.

  4. Legendary Luck:
    The Dice Demon gains a Legendary Action

  5. House Rules:
    The Dice Demon targets a creature. That creature cannot cast spells next turn.

  6. Heavy Die:
    The Dice Demon makes an Infernal Die Roll attack with Number of Misfortune-Sides x 1D10 Damage.

If a Misfortune-Side is hit, increment the Misfortune-Counter.
