Traits

Sovereign Acquisitiveness (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). If the aspect would be reduced to 0 hit points, her current hit point total instead resets to 450 hit points, she recharges her Prismatic Shimmer Breath, and she regains any expended uses of Legendary Resistance. Additionally, she can now use the options in the "Mythic Actions" section for 1 hour. Award a party an additional 90,000 XP (180,000 XP total) for defeating the aspect of Astilabor after her Sovereign Acquisitiveness activates.

Protective Ward Shroud. The aspect projects a protective matrix echoing her holy symbol. No magic item within 60 feet of the aspect can be destroyed, un-attuned, or have its charges depleted by a hostile effect or curse. Furthermore, creatures attempting to steal from the aspect or her allies have Disadvantage on Sleight of Hand and Stealth checks within this radius.

Legendary Resistance (5/Day). If the aspect fails a saving throw, she can choose to succeed instead.

Actions

Multiattack. The aspect makes one Bite attack, one Claw attack, and one Tail attack.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +17 to hit, reach 20 ft., one target. Hit: 22 (2d12 + 9) piercing damage plus 13 (2d12) psychic damage. If the target is attuned to a magic item that grants a bonus to AC or saving throws, the aspect temporarily "borrows" that property, adding the bonus to her own stats until the start of her next turn.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +17 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 20 (2d10 + 9) slashing damage. If the target is holding a weapon or shield, they must succeed on a DC 25 Strength saving throw or the item is disarmed and lands in an unoccupied space within 10 feet of the aspect, safely preserved.

Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +17 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: $22$ ($2d12 + 9$) bludgeoning damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 25 Strength saving throw or be pushed 20 feet away as a golden, telekinetic sunburst repels them.

Prismatic Shimmer Breath (Recharge 5–6). The aspect exhales a roaring blast of crystallized, multicolored light reflecting all the metallic and chromatic colors of dragonkind. The breath sweeps out in a 150-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 26 Dexterity saving throw, taking 65 (10d12) force damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. Objects, currency, and magic items caught in the cone are entirely unharmed and cleanly polished.

Bonus Actions

Evaluate Estate. The aspect targets one creature she can see within 120 feet. She instantly discerns the highest-value magic item or monetary asset the target possesses. Until the start of her next turn, the aspect's attacks against that creature deal an extra 9 (2d8) psychic damage as she attacks with the precision of a master appraiser.

Reactions

Prey on the Thievish. When a creature within 60 feet of the aspect uses a feature or spell that inflicts a curse, deals sneak attack damage, or attempts a theft, the aspect can unleash a wave of righteous disapproval. The target takes 22 (4d10) psychic damage and must succeed on a DC 24 Wisdom saving throw or be Charmed by the aspect until the end of its next turn, unable to act aggressively against her wealth.

Legendary Actions

The aspect can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn. The aspect regains spent legendary actions at the start of her turn.

Preserve Status. The aspect moves up to half her flying speed without provoking opportunity attacks.

Golden Sunburst Filigree (Costs 2 Actions). The aspect flares with the energy of her holy symbol. Each hostile creature within 30 feet of her must succeed on a DC 24 Constitution saving throw or be Blinded by flashing topaz light until the end of its next turn.

Hoardmistress’s Appraisal (Costs 2 Actions). The aspect forces one creature within 60 feet to make a DC 24 Charisma saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is overwhelmed by a sudden reverence for material wealth and preservation; it must drop any weapon it is holding that it does not legally own or didn't craft itself.

Mythic Actions

If the aspect’s Sovereign Acquisitiveness trait has activated in the last hour, she can use the options below as legendary actions.

Limbo Vault Phase (Costs 2 Actions). The aspect flashes with the shifting, chaotic energies of her rumored home plane of Limbo. She and any wealth within 15 feet of her briefly shift out of phase with reality. Until the start of her next turn, she is immune to all damage, and attacks pass cleanly through her iridescent form.

Boon of the Acquisitor (Costs 3 Actions). The aspect manifests an echoing replication of a legendary treasure from her personal hoard. A radiant blast of force energy slams down in a 40-foot-radius cylinder centered on a point she can see within 120 feet. Each creature in that area must make a DC 26 Intelligence saving throw, taking 39 (6d12) psychic damage and being Stunned until the end of its next turn on a failed save, as their minds are flooded with the visual weight of all the treasures in Realmspace.

Description

"The Aspect of Astilabor manifests as a magnificent, titanic dragon whose sheer presence embodies the pure, uncorrupted essence of draconic majesty and preservation. Rather than the terrifying, soot-stained visage of her avaricious counterparts, Astilabor possesses a flawless form that shimmers blindingly with an iridescent blend of every chromatic and metallic dragon hue, or coalesces into the crystalline, translucent structure of a royal Topaz Greatwyrm. Her scales do not click like loose coins; instead, they lock together seamlessly with the chime of fine crystal and polished platinum, acting as a living prism that refracts the ambient light of the Material Plane.

Unlike other draconic deities who project an aura of raw terror or destructive hunger, the Hoardmistress radiates an atmosphere of absolute, immutable order, immense wealth, and silent status. She does not carry the scars of battle, for she views violence as a crude and undisciplined waste of resource. When she moves, it is with a slow, calculating grace, her eyes gleaming with the sharp, analytical intellect of an ancient archivist evaluating an estate.

To stand before her is to face the very archetype of dragonkind: an eternal guardian who values the collection of power and beautiful treasures not out of malicious greed, but as a sacred, fundamental way to connect with the deep magic of the universe."

Attitude: Regal, analytical, and entirely detached from petty mortal or dragon wars. She views combat not as an opportunity to destroy or dominate, but as an audit—a means to correct an imbalance where lower creatures are disrespecting or wasting the magic tied to material wealth. She despises the naked greed of Tiamat and Task, viewing their methods as trashy and undisciplined.

Tactics: She plays a long, defensive game of containment. She will systematically disarm martial fighters, borrow defensive properties from spellcasters via her Bite, and use her Prey on the Thievish reaction to turn aggressive rogues into charmed protectors of her curated collection.

Lair and Lair Actions

The Vault of Realmspace

When manifested on the Material Plane, the Aspect of Astilabor resides within a meticulously organized, grand cathedral-vault. Unlike Task's chaotic, burning foundry pits, Astilabor's lair is pristine, architectural, and perfectly secured. Piles of gold are perfectly sorted, and every magnificent centerpiece from platinum candlesticks to gold-threaded wall hangings, features unique owner engravings, indicating they are proudly loaned by her congregation.

Lair Actions

On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), the aspect can take a lair action to cause one of the following effects:

  • Lockdown Ward. The aspect activates the protective layout of the cathedral. Massive, solid platinum doors slam shut over all exits, and shimmering walls of force block paths within the room. The walls have an AC of 15 and 50 hit points, lasting until initiative count 20 on the next round.

  • The Sovereign's Audit. The wealth stored in the room rings out with a beautiful, ringing crystal chime. Every creature carrying items or gold that do not belong to them by legal deed or right of creation must make a DC 24 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 18 (4d8) psychic damage and is knocked Prone under a weight of sudden, intense spiritual guilt.

  • Topaz Resonance. The aspect taps into her topaz greatwyrm lineage. Debris and dust from the grand vault floor crystallize into razor-sharp topaz shards that swirl violently in a 30-foot-radius sphere centered on a point the aspect can see. Each creature in that area must make a DC 24 Dexterity saving throw, taking 21 (6d6) force damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one.

Regional Effects

The region within 5 miles of the Aspect of Astilabor's lair is touched by her pristine sense of value and collection:

  • The Incorruptible Hoard. Within 5 miles of the lair, coins, jewelry, and weapons never rust, tarnish, or decay, remaining in a state of absolute aesthetic perfection.

  • Abhorrence of Thieves. Honest trade flourishes, but those with deceptive intentions find their hands slipping. Sleight of Hand and Thieves' Tools checks made within the region have Disadvantage, as the spiritual residue of the Hoardmistress rejects theft.
