Glider. Archaeopteryx does not take fall damage.
Shoulder Pet. Archaeopteryx can ride upon and be commanded from its master's shoulder. Taming a shoulder pet does not require a tame slot. Archaeopteryx cannot be ridden.
Omnivorous Insectivore. Archaeopteryx consumes fruit and insects. It must consume 0.25 Kg (0.5 lbs) of food daily.
Distracting Chatter. Any opponent within a 15 foot sphere of the Archaeopteryx must succeed in a DC 13 CON saving throw or be forced to attack it on their next turn.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +0 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 1 (1d4 - 3) Piercing damage.
Frenzy. Melee Weapon Attack: +0 to hit, range 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 6) slashing damage. This attack can only be used during a surprise round.
Flee. Archaeopteryx may make a DC 10 DEX saving throw. If successful, the Archaeopteryx may escape combat. If failed, the Archaeopteryx is not vulnerable to an attack of opportunity.
Evasive Maneuvers. The Archaeopteryx may make a DC 14 DEX saving throw. If successful, it avoids an oncoming nonmagical attack.
Description
A small theropod dinosaur from Jurassic Europe, known for its unique flight feathers and ability to glide. Generally very skittish, it does not interact with adventurers often. However, due to their friendly nature and bright colors once tamed, many people have them as pets.
