Traits

Regenerative Hunger. The Butcher may heal from any damage it takes, by eating the flesh of the nearest body or victim. Even a single successful bite will restore 35 Hit Points, unless interrupted before it's next turn. Do not lose track of a Butcher you are fighting: because it will come back for a second round, fully healed.

Bladed Arms. The Butcher does not possess hands, and it's arms count as short swords, in combat. They can be used as a shield, against incoming ranged attacks, as a Reaction, or Bonus Action.

Unrelenting Hunter. The Butcher will track the party to the ends of the Earth, until it is destroyed. If it runs away, it will come back to ambush the party again.

Actions

Bladed Arm Strikes. The Butcher attacks once with each arm, and has two actions per round.

Bladed Arm. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 25 (2d12+3) [Slashing] damage. The Butcher takes a swing with one, or both arms at an opponent.

Frenzied Leap. Ranged Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, range 15/25 ft., 1 target. Hit: 16 (2d8) [Piercing] damage. The Butcher screams, as it jumps onto the nearest enemy combatant, pinning them under it, and stabbing their shoulders to pin them in place. On a hit, the target is Prone. On a miss, The Butcher is Incapacitated, as it's arms get stuck in the ground. This ends at the start of the Butcher's turn, or if it takes 50 or more damage.

Bonus Actions

Devour. The Butcher attempts to bite and tear the flesh from a victim in order to heal, and sate their gnawing, all-consuming hunger. As a Bonus action, the target must roll a DC 14 Dexterity Save, or be bitten. The Butcher heals for 35 damage, while the victim must take (2D10) [Necrotic Damage]. If this is interrupted, or the victim passes the save, no damage or healing occurs.

Melee Bonus Attack: Stab. The Butcher attempts to stab you. Hit: +3, 5 ft range. (3D4) [Piercing] damage.

Reactions

Diseased Reaction Time. The Butcher gains +1 to it's AC, as it raises both arms in a defensive X, in front of itself.

Description

This was once, a human being. Then, someone decided to mix a magical plague, with a scientific one. What was born of that Hellish Union, was the birth of the Apex Variant Zombies, and the demiplane used to contain the experiment. The demiplane, the island of Banoi, is both a part of the Hawaiian Islands, and not. Therefore, the modern age was brought screaming into the horrors of the realm of fantasy. What does this have to do with one of the most vicious monsters on this Island of Horrors? Well, a little explanation, of the thing in the shadows that wants to eat you, may just keep you alive, eh?

The Butcher isn't the most powerful, of it's superior zombie cousins, but it is the most persistent, and downright annoying of the bunch. Armed with it's own forearms and transformed hands, as sharpened bone blades, an insatiable hunger for the flesh of the living, and the speed to keep up with most adventurers, the Butcher is the enemy you ABSOLUTELY have to make sure, isn't STILL twitching.
