Incorporeal Movement. The ancestral spirit can move through other creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain. It takes 5 (1d10) force damage if it ends its turn inside an object.
Multiattack. The Ancestral Spirit makes two spirit weapon attacks, or uses Instill Bravery.
Spirit Weapon. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, Reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) force damage.
Instill Bravery. The ancestral spirit speaks of the great power of family and how it is a force that drowns out all fear. As an action, the spirit targets a creature within 30 feet and instills it with vigor. The creature gains 1d6 + 3 temporary hitpoints at the start of each of its turns and is immune to being frightened. When the spirit disappears, all targets lose any remaining temporary hit points and immunity to being frightened from this ability.
When summoned with the Familial Power feat, the following changes are applied:
- The Ancestral Spirit gains a number of hitpoints equal to twice your Proficiency bonus when summoned.
- The Damage of the Spirit Weapon and the Temporary Hitpoints from Instill Bravery both increase by 1d6 when you reach 5th level (2d6), 11th level (3d6), and 17th level (4d6)
Description
A spirit of ancestral lineage - tied to the bloodline of the individual who summoned it, and bound by familial duty to serve and protect with its undying life.
Tomb Guards. Ancestral spirits are commonly found within familial tombs and ancestral burial grounds - loyally guarding their fallen kin and forsaking the afterlife for a short time. Some scholars believe that the departed who commit to this choice do so out of sort of "purgatorial service" - a means to pay off their sins by forgoing slumber in lieu of eternal vigilance.
Passive but Protective. Ancestral spirits are - more often than not - simple bystanders on guard over the bodies of their charges, willing to fight back against those who would loot or pervade the remains of their kin.
Power of Family. One of the most compelling forces of the ancestral spirit is the ability for it to stir the hearts of the living and the dead with valor - channeling the voices of the departed through itself as a means to remind those around it that it does not stand alone.
