Optional Custom Spell List

  • Dark Memory(1/day)  The targeted player is trapped in the ink. Every turn (other than the first turn) the player can make a DC18 strength, athletics, or wisdom check to attempt to get out of the ink. Each enemy they faced before appears in ink form, starting with their latest villain and going backwards (1/turn) until either the player escapes or 10 rounds pass. The enemy that appears gains half their average hit points, keeps their spells and weapons with an extra 1d8 necrotic damage on all attacks. They have the following ac, immunites and vulnerabilities:

AC: 13

Immunities: Poison, necrotic, psychic.

Vulnerabilities: Radiant, Acid

  • Forced Phylactery: (5/day) The targeted creature must make a DC 18 wisdom save. On a success, nothing happens. On a fail, the targeted creature's soul is put into an object within line of sight of the lich. That object begins changing into the shape of the targeted crearture. It fights the targeted creature. Until this object is fully destroyed or the lich is destroyed, it carries on fighting. Adjust the damage, armor class, immunities, resistances, and vulnerabilities depending on the object. If the targeted creature dies, the object acts as a phylactery. This means that if the targeted creature dies, the lich attempts to destroy the object. The objects also are magical, so they overcome players' resistances like bludgeoning from non magical attacks. These are some statistics for object types & scales:

Actions

Re-Write Reality. For an action, the Lich can create something by drawing it in the air. As the DM, you can decide how he uses this; whether he creates ink monsters, objects, dark spells or more. The spells are not tied to normal spellcasting; it doesn't cost a spell slot and can't be counterspelled. In return, this pen has 3 charges, reseting after 2 rounds. Minions (1 charge) and objects (2 charges) can be cast as bonus actions or reactions. Custom spells (3 charges) can only be cast as actions or legendary actions. Use this stat block for the ink minions:

AC:13

Hit Points: 5d10

Immunities: Poison, necrotic, slashing, bludgeoning, psychic, cold, lightning, thunder

Resistances: Force

Vulnerabilities: Radiant, Acid, Piercing

Actions

Necrotic Blade: 30ft,+6 attack modifier, 2d8 slashing+1d8 necrotic. Wounds deal 1d4+2 poison damage every turn until they are either healed or the lich destroys the minion.

Ink Bow: 60ft,+8 attack modifier, 2d6 piercing+1d8 necrotic. Wounds deal 1d4 poison damage every turn until they are either healed or the lich destroys the minion.

Bonus Actions

Create: Create a minion(1 charge) or object(2 charges) using your quill.

Destroy: Dissipate a minion that has lasted 2+rounds. You gain its remaining hit points.

Reactions

Revival: If Gideon dies, the lich revives after 1d10 days, as long as the philactory isn't destroyed.

Reaction Speed: Unless incapacitated, paralysed or surprised, when an attack with a physical weapon misses he can create a physical structure to deflect it, such as a weapon, creature, or even something like a train!

Legendary Actions

1/2 rounds

Legendary Spell (Costs 1 Actions). Use your quill to create to create a custom spell.

Description

The Lich uses a magical quill to draw its spells, objects, monsters and more. This quill is also it's philactory. The ink of the quill is infused with necrotic energy. This gives all attacks made with the ink 1d8 necrotic bonus damage (unless the attack already does necrotic damage).
