Traits

Ash Form. The tormentor can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch without expending extra movement to do so.

Shadow Camouflage. While in areas of dim light or darkness, the tormentor has Advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks.

Withering Presence (10 ft). Creatures that start their turn within 10 feet of the tormentor must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution save or have Disadvantage on their next attack roll.

Actions

Multiattack. The tormentor makes two corrupting touch attacks.

Corrupting Touch. Melee Attack Roll: +6, reach 5 ft. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 3) Necrotic damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution save or have its maximum Hit Points reduced by the amount of damage taken and be unable to regain Hit Points until the end of its next turn.

Bonus Actions

Death Knell (Recharge 5-6). As a bonus action, the tormentor targets a creature within 30 feet who is below half Hit Points (bloodied). That creature must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution save or take 18 (4d8) Necrotic damage or half as much on a success. If this ability reduces the creature to 0 Hit Points, the tormentor gains 10 temporary Hit Points.

Description

Ashspawn (Lore Overview)
Ashspawn are not merely undead—they are warped remnants of life burned into shadow, where plant matter, souls, and negative energy fused under the Ashwall’s influence. They are undead plant creatures born of necrotic corruption. They appear as silhouettes of drifting ash, threaded with root-like veins of void energy. They are silent hunters that drain vitality and unmake the living.
