Traits

Pack Tactics. The hawk has Advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at least one of the hawk’s allies is within 5 feet of the creature and the ally doesn’t have the Incapacitated condition.

Actions

Beak. Melee Attack Roll: +4, reach 5 ft. Hit: 4 (1d4 + 2) Piercing damage, or 6 (1d8 + 2) Piercing damage if the target is Blinded.

Celestial Cry (Recharge 4-6) . The Beacon Beak cries a deafening and piercing shriek. Any creature within 20ft must make a DC10 Constitution Saving Throw. On a failed save, take 4 (1d4 + 2) Thunder damage and the creature now has the Deafened condition, and on a successful save, the creature takes half the damage and does not have the Deafened condition until the Beacon Beak's next turn. Any Celestial within 100ft of the Beacon Beak now has advantage on any creature that took damage from this attack until the Beacon Beak is defeated.

Bonus Actions

Flying Flee. The Beacon Beak uses the Disengage as a Bonus Action.

Reactions

Sentry. As a Reaction, when any creature (including itself) within 20 feet of the Beacon Beak is targeted by an attack, the Beacon Beak grants that creature a +2 bonus to its Armor Class (AC), potentially causing the attack to miss. This ward lasts for 3 rounds. At the start of each of the warded creature's turns, excluding the turn the ward was created, the AC bonus decreases by 1 (becoming +1 on the next round, and +0 on the final round), after which the effect ends.

Description

A semi-transparent, quick-flying hawk with the sole goal of watching over the lands with a bird's-eye view. The Beacon Beak was one of the celestial creatures created by Helm, The Watcher, cosmic guardian of the planes. Beacon Beaks were made to be sentries of the sky, spiritual guardians, watching and guarding the material plane in Helm's place. These creatures do not care about morality, or who is good or bad in a situation. Unlike other creatures made by Helm, Beacon Beaks aren't powerful enough to try to protect, so they use a special cry to signal to other guardian celestials when someone or something is in danger or needs protection. These creatures are rarely seen, but when they are, travelers and adventurers alike try to act on their best behavior, and despite lacking physical or magical power, they are rarely challenged, in fear of the wrath of Helm.
