Traits

Regeneration. The dragon regenerates 10 hit points at the start of each of its turns. This regeneration is tied to its End Crystals, which are in the End, their native dimension. If all 10 End Crystals are destroyed, the dragon loses this feature

Protective Steed. If a creature riding the Ender Dragon takes damage, the dragon can cause itself to take half that damage. Additionally, creatures riding the dragon gain a +3 bonus to AC as the dragon protects them.

Rejuvenation. If the dragon dies, it respawns in the End in 1d10 days, near one of its End Crystals. This trait stops functioning if all the dragon's End Crystals are destroyed.

Actions

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack +8 to hit Range 10 ft.  Hit: 18 (2d10 + 7) piercing damage.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack +8 to hit Range 5 ft.  Hit: 14 (2d6 + 7) slashing damage

Tail. Melee Weapon Attack +8 to hit Range 10 ft.  Hit: 16 (2d8 + 7) bludgeoning damage. If the target is a creature, it must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw or be launched 50 feet into the air, taking 17 (5d6) damage from the fall and landing prone in an unoccupied space of the dragon's choosing within 30 feet of it.

Ender Orb. Ranged Weapon Attack +8 to hit Range 60 ft.  Hit: 11 (2d10) fire damage plus 11 (2d10) radiant damage.

Dragon's Breath (Recharge 5-6). The Ender Dragon exhales Dragon's Breath, creating a 10 foot by 10 foot cloud of harmful breath centered on a point within 30 feet of it. Any creature that moves into the breath for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, or that is within the breath when it is first fired, must make a DC 17 Dexterity saving throw, taking 16 (2d8 + 7) acid damage on a failed save or half as much damage on a successful one.

Description

An Ender Dragon is a black dragon with purple eyes and white scales on its back and wings. It lives in the End dimension, but can leave that realm and enter other areas. The dragons can often be found in their home dimension, the End, and in alliance with other creatures.

Protective Steeds. An Ender Dragon can be befriended and ridden as a mount. The dragons get very protective of their friends, and actively defend them against threats. Therefore, they can often be found in alliance with other beings.

End Crystals. Each Ender Dragon has 10 End Crystals, which are found throughout the End on obsidian pillars. An End Crystal can be linked to its owner with an Identify spell, which reveals the dragon who heals from it and the whereabouts of that dragon. Ender dragons heal from these crystals, and are extraordinarily difficult to kill while its crystals are active. If a dragon is downed, it regenerates near one of these End Crystals. The only way to permanently kill an Ender Dragon is to destroy all its End Crystals and then kill it. Thus, an Ender Dragon will try to hide its Crystals and defend them with traps and magic.

Friendly and Mighty. Ender Dragons can be of any alignment, but they tend towards good. They are friendly towards most creatures, attacking only if first attacked. Some Ender Dragons turn to evil when corrupted by dark forces or serving an evil master. These evil dragons are hunted by other Ender Dragons, who try to find and destroy the offenders' crystals and hunt them down, as evil in Ender Dragons is seen as a threat to their cause. Evil dragons that escape their kin are still seen as outcasts, and good Ender Dragons will be hostile toward evil ones.

Dragon Families. Ender Dragons are normally solitary beings, but they can form family-like bonds with their kin. Dragons can mate, laying an Ender Dragon Egg. The egg hatches in 1d6 months after being laid. The young Ender Dragon is then raised by its mother and father and taught to create their own End Crystals. When the dragon reaches 10 years of age, it is considered an adult and often leaves its family, but dragon families retain a bond and often visit each other. Rarely, dragons form packs, being together their whole lives. A pack of Dragons is called a flock of the End.

The Ender Goddess. One female Ender Dragon rose above the rest. Enderwing, goddess of the Ender Dragons and queen of the End, is a master of dragon magic. It learned a way to create incredible magical force fields and shares that gift with its worshipers. Enderwing still roams the End today, communing with her dragon followers, and may intervene directly if a dire threat attempts to claim or destroy the End
