Traits

Antimagic Susceptibility. The sand sculpture is incapacitated while in the area of an antimagic field. If targeted by dispel magic, the sand sculpture must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against the caster's spell save DC or fall unconscious for 1 minute.

False Appearance. While the sand sculpture remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from a regular sand sculpture. If the sculpture is motionless at the start of combat, it has advantage on its initiative roll.

Immutable Form. The sand sculpture is immune to any spell or effect that would alter its form.

Sand Glide. The sand sculpture can burrow through sand without disturbing the material it moves through.

Unusual Nature. The sand sculpture does not require air, food, water, or sleep.

Water Susceptibility. For every 5 feet the sand sculpture moves in water, or for every gallon of water splashed on it, it takes 1 cold damage.

Actions

Multiattack. The sand sculpture makes two Slam attacks.

Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (1d10 + 4) bludgeoning damage. If the target is surrounded by at least three walls created by a sand sculpture's Sand Labyrinth trait, it takes an additional 7 (2d6) bludgeoning damage.

Bonus Actions

Labyrinth (Recharge 4-6). The sand sculpture creates a vertical 1-foot thick wall of sand on the ground within 30 feet of it. The wall is composed of ten 5-foot by 5-foot panels, or fifteen panels if the sand sculpture is on sand. The wall can form any shape, but each panel must be contiguous with at least one other panel. If the wall cuts through a creature's space when it appears, the creature chooses which side it is pushed to.

A Medium or smaller creature that attempts to move across a panel must succeed on a DC 15 Strength check to do so, unless it has a burrow speed. On a success, a creature spends 10 feet of movement and climbs over a panel; on a failure, it falls prone.

Each panel is an object that can be damaged (AC 15; 30 hit points, immunity to poison and psychic damage). Destroying a panel causes it to crumble.

Description

Sand sculptures are sometimes animated by wizards or master craftsmen to add flair to their creations. In rare cases, sand sculptures may be animated by mages with ill intent or even the remnants of magical wastes washed onto beaches from upstream.
