Traits

Demonic Restoration. If Adimarchus dies outside the Abyss, his body dissolves into ichor, and he gains a new body instantly, reviving with all his Hit Points somewhere in the Abyss.

Legendary Resistance (Costs 2 Souls). If Adimarchus fails a saving throw, he can choose to succeed instead.

Madness. When Adimarchus is subjected to an effect that would cause him to make a Wisdom saving throw, he can make a Charisma saving throw instead. Additionally, Adimarchus’ mind can’t be read by any effect.

Magic Resistance.
Adimarchus has Advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Regeneration. Adimarchus regains 15 Hit Points at the start of each of his turns. If he takes Radiant damage, this trait doesn’t function on his next turn. Adimarchus dies only if he starts his turn with 0 Hit Points and doesn’t regenerate.

Soul Count. Adimarchus can consume a number of souls he has consumed to power certain effects, such as his Legendary Resistance ability. Adimarchus has consumed 7 (3d4) souls before the beginning of combat.

Actions

Multiattack. Adimarchus makes one Iron Gauntlet attack and one Ashblade attack.

Iron Gauntlet. Melee Attack Roll: +14 reach 5 ft. Hit: 21 (4d6 + 7) Piercing damage.

Ashblade. Melee Attack Roll: +14, reach 5 ft. Hit: 14 (2d6 + 7) Slashing damage, and Adimarchus can expend one soul to end any spells affecting the target.

Spellcasting. Adimarchus casts one of the following spells, requiring no Material components and using Charisma as the spellcasting ability (spell save DC 22):

At Will: Command (level 2 version), Detect Evil and Good, Detect Magic, Flame Strike

3/Day Each: Blindness/Deafness, Mirror Image

1/Day Each: Abi-Dalzim’s Horrid Wilting

Bonus Actions

Teleport. Adimarchus teleports himself, or another willing demon within 10 feet of himself, along with any equipment carried or worn to an unoccupied space within 60 feet.

Reactions

Soul Devourer. Trigger: Adimarchus reduces a creature who isn’t a Construct or an Undead to 0 Hit Points. Response -- Wisdom Saving Throw: DC 15. Failure: Adimarchus consumes the creature’s soul and adds 1 to his soul count. A creature whose soul is consumed in this way immediately dies, and it can’t be restored to life by any means short of a Wish.

Legendary Actions

Legendary Action Uses: 3. Immediately after another creature’s turn, Adimarchus can expend a use to take one of the following actions. Adimarchus regains all expended uses at the start of each of his turns.

Unholy Whip. Adimarchus flies up to half his Fly Speed. Melee Attack Roll: + 14, reach 15 ft. Hit: 10 (1d6 + 7) Necrotic damage plus 2 (1d4) Psychic damage, and the target is Grappled (escape DC 22) by one of four tentacles. The target’s Hit Point Maximum is reduced by the same amount as the Psychic damage dealt.

Unrighteous Smite. Adimarchus uses Spellcasting to cast Flame Strike. Adimarchus can’t take this action again until the start of his next turn.

Profane Temptation. Adimarchus uses Spellcasting to cast Command (level 2 version). Adimarchus can’t take this action again until the start of his next turn.

Description

Once a planetar, Adimarchus found himself corrupted when, in his endless battles against Graz’zt, he fell from grace and attempted to invade Mount Celestia to conquer and command its forces to overwhelm his greatest foe. He failed, and the conquered sliver of Mount Celestia was ejected from the Upper Planes, settling in the Abyss. This sliver was thence named Occipitus, and Adimarchus plucked out his eye as a symbol of his new domain. This eye is the only thing identical between his two most common appearances; he both appears in an illusion of his former angelic glory and in a corrupted, black-skinned and wingless husk.

Those cultists who follow him often degenerate into mummy lords or another such undead monster after death, as Abyssal power reanimates those Adimarchus wishes to employ.
