Spellcasting. The Arcane Sergeant is a 9th-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 15, +7 to hit with spell attacks). It has the following sorcerer and warlock spells prepared:
- Cantrips (at will): eldritch blast, mage hand, message, minor illusion
- 1st level (4 slots): comprehend languages, detect magic, shield
- 2nd level (3 slots): darkvision, misty step, see invisibility
- 3rd level (3 slots): clairvoyance, counterspell, dispel magic
- 4th level (3 slots): dimension door, locate creature
- 5th level (1 slot): teleportation circle
"You Have the Right to Remain Silent, But I Highly Suggest Screaming!" When the sergeant reduces a creature to 0 hit points with a spell, they can choose to magically stabilize and bind the target in glowing, ethereal handcuffs instead of killing them. The target is restrained and gagged by magical force for 1 hour.
Multiattack. The Arcane Sergeant casts eldritch blast, firing three beams.
Eldritch Blast (Cantrip). Ranged Spell Attack: [roll]1d20+7[/roll] to hit, range 120 ft., one target. Hit: 9 ([roll]1d10+4[/roll]) force damage.
Quickened Pursuit (3/Day). The sergeant magically bends time, allowing them to cast misty step or detect magic as a bonus action without expending a spell slot.
Stop Right There, Criminal Scum! When a creature the sergeant can see within 30 feet attempts to cast a teleportation spell, the sergeant can use its reaction to cast counterspell.
