Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If the dragon fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.
Gluey. The gummi dragon is covered in a sticky, viscous excretion. Any creature that starts its turn in the dragon's space or enters the dragon's space during its turn must make a DC 13 DEX save. On a fail, the creature is Restrained as long as it remains in contact. A creature Restrained in this way can use an Action to make a DC 16 STR check. If it succeeds it is no longer restrained.
Change Shape. The dragon magically morphs into a humanoid that has a challenge rating no higher than half its own, or back into its true form. It reverts to its true form if it dies. Any equipment it is carrying is absorbed or borne by the new form. In its new form, the dragon retains its alignment, hit points, Hit Dice, ability to speak, proficiencies, Legendary Resistance, lair actions, INT, CHA, and CON scores, and its pinkish hue. Its new form is also exceptionally rotund. Its statistics and capabilities are otherwise replaced by those of the new form, except any class features or legendary actions of that form.
Tooth and Nail. The dragon makes three attacks: two with its claws, one with its sweet tooth.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) slashing damage.
Sweet Tooth. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, range 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d10 + 3) piercing damage. The creature must make a DC 19 CON saving throw, taking 32 (7d8) poison damage on a fail.
Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, range 5 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (3d8 + 3) bludgeoning damage.
Breath Weapons (Recharge 5-6). The dragon uses one of the following breath weapons.
- Saccharine Breath. The dragon exhales a jet of pure sugar in a 60-foot line that is five feet wide. Each creature in that line must make a DC 13 DEX saving throw, taking 40 (9d8) acid damage on a fail, or half as much on a success.
- Ambrosial Breath. The dragon exhales a cloud of pink sugary gas in a 60-foot cube. Each creature in that area must make a DC 18 CHA saving throw. On a fail the target is charmed, and must use its movement and actions to eat the nearest sugary sweets available. The creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself with a save. If a creature gorges itself in this way for three turns, it becomes poisoned.
The dragon can take 4 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The dragon regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.
Sugar Shock. The dragon sends a caloric jolt through any creature it has restrained or grappled (see Gluey). The creature must make a DC 19 CON save. On a fail, the creature's speed is doubled and it has advantage on STR saving throws for one round. At the end of every subsequent round, the creature may repeat the save, suffering the following effects on a failure:
- Round 1 – The creature suffers the effects of the Confusion spell.
- Round 2 – The creature is blinded.
- Round 3 – The creature suffers four levels of exhaustion.
- Round 4 – The creature falls into a coma and is paralyzed.
Slam Attack. The dragon makes a slam attack.
Detect. The dragon makes a WIS (Perception) check using its finely attuned sense of smell or taste.
Wing Attack (Costs 2 Actions). The dragon beats its wings. Each creature within 10 feet of the dragon must succeed on a DC 13 DEX save or take 10 (2d6 + 3) bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone. The dragon can then fly up to half its flying speed.
Description
You may find a gummi dragon reclining its massively smooth, sticky, sweet-smelling body in the opulent palace of a major city, or the finely furnished warehouse of a world-famous chocolatier. Their natural joviality and sense of taste make them welcome fixtures to any cultural center willing to invest in making them feel at home.
Relentless Confectioners
Gummi dragons have an insatiable appetite for the perfect sweet treat. Their hoards are full of exotic morsels and ancient recipes, margins worn by centuries of minute adjustments. Unlike the dusty pile of antiquities you might find when visiting a brass dragon, a gummi dragon's hoard is never comprised of the same stuff for long. The greatest sin in any glutton's eyes is to let some exquisite delicacy go to waste, and a gummi dragon's stomach is never full. Gummi dragons usually keep a host of adventurers and pastry-makers in their entourage, employed at crafting and fetching the most in-vogue sugary concoctions.
Too Much of a Good Thing
While typically whimsical and good-natured, these dragons are mercurial. Their mood can quickly turn sour. Sugar is highly acidic, and in battle, gummi dragons will employ their natural sweetness to deal their enemies lethal corrosive damage.
Stewing In Their Own Juices
Gummi dragons reproduce in a similar manner to slugs (apophallation is known to occur). Together, two partners will lay a delectable clutch of up to 50 candy eggs. Only one hatchling out of every clutch will be allowed to mature to wyrmlinghood. The rest will be consumed or traded to connoisseurs.
