Description

Natives to the Para-Elemental Plane of Ice, Frost Salamanders are not uncommon amongst arctic regions of our world. What is uncommon, is finding them as far South as the Lands of Intrigue. Amn, being fairly temperate, has relatively few cold locations. Though it's deep in those frozen mountains where the handful of Awakened Frost Salamanders resides.
See unlike normal Frost Salamanders that wander through accidental portals or are otherwise magically transported to the material plane, often in search of fire to feast upon, these creatures in Amn were brought purposely by the Cowled Wizards, or so my contacts say.
They - allegedly - were looking for a new type of warhorse, and imbued the elementals with chardalyn, pumping dark magic into their bodies and awakening them past what normal magic could do. This, however, only created angry, magical, elementals that escaped and now roam in the mountains.
