Traits

Spellcasting. The boggard swampseer is a 4th-level spellcaster. Its primary spellcasting ability is Wisdom (DC 14, +6 to hit with spell attacks). The boggard swampseer has the following cleric spells prepared:

Cantrips (at will): acid splash, dancing lights, ray of frost, shillelagh

1st level (4 slots): fear, jump

2nd level (3 slots): acid arrow, darkness

Swamp Stride. The boggard cultist ignores difficult terrain when in swamp terrain.

Actions

Multiattack. The boggard swampseer can use its terrifying
croak. It then makes three melee attacks.

Staff. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6+3) bludgeoning damage, or 7 (1d8+3) bludgeoning damage when used with two hands.

Tongue. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d4+3) bludgeoning damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 14) if it is a Medium or smaller creature. Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the boggard swampseer can’t use its tongue attack.

Terrifying Croak. The boggard swampseer unleashes a terrifying croak. Any non-boggard within 30 feet must succeed on a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened until the end of its next turn. A creature that succeeds on this saving throw is immune to this boggard swampseer’s terrifying croak for 24 hours.

Destructive Croak (Recharge 5–6). The boggard swampseer utters a powerful croak to every creature in a 15- foot radius. Affected creatures must make a DC 13 Constitution saving throw, taking 17 5d6 damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. If the boggard swampseer has a creature grappled with its tongue, that creature has disadvantage on its saving throw against the destructive croak.

Reactions

Drowning Drone. When the boggard swampseer or one of its allies within 60 feet fails its saving throw against a sound-based spell, the boggard swampseer can make a performance roll to create a deafening croak. The saving throw can be rerolled, and the higher of the two results is used.

Description

BOGGARD SWAMPSEER

Their faith in Gogunta has granted them additional power exemplified by their terrifying croak and ability to cast powerful spells that can confuse and overwhelm their opponents. Boggard swampseers can defend also against sound-based spells by emitting a bellowing drone
